For the cost of upgrading my PC to a MODERN gaming system I could just go buy an X-box (which does have user-add on capability) AND a stripped down computer for MP3/Internet use. Don't need no fancy stuff for that.
Ok, I've played Halo through and i've played FA/HL/NS/CS/DoD & SI. I prefer the Xbox controller (S-pad mind you) to my mouse and keyboard. Why? Because (for one) it means that EVERYONE playing the game will have to use the same stuff I am. I don't have to worry about my controller not being as high-tech as someone elses.
Not to mention I was raised a console boy. Therefore IMHO Consoles > PC

Silencer - If it wasn't for consoles gaming would never have become so Mainstream. Instead of getting people from all around playing most of the gamers would be pasty white people. oh wait, a majority of them are.
Consoles have brought gaming much much more into the mainstream with their ease of use. I've seen the sports-jocks at my high-school talking about GTA3, Vice City and other such games. Think about it like this - Blizzard made their success based on the Lost Vikings - orginally a console game. I don't care how hardcore you are about YOUR PC, IMHO consoles will always be better for certain types of games. And if you think a mouse & keyboard are superior then why do so many companies make profit off of selling "alternative" keypads?
Not to mention the average gamer (console or otherwise) is about 28-32. I'm lookin at you MonsE (j/k). so if you say that all consoles are aimed at kids then why is playstation 2 still selling? By most logic a parent wouldn't buy a console for a kid with the gratuitous violent games.
And yes, i am a fan of consoles because I see them put out more high-quality games then the PC. In the last 5 years I've seen about 20 good PC games. For the consoles I own (right now it's Sega Saturn, Nintendo 64, PlayStation 2, GameCube, GameBoy Pocket, all purchased ('cept Saturn) with my own money) I've seen 20 quality games THIS year alone. Some games may be better on PC (Half-Life, StarCraft, Diablo's) but the console still hails as king. Not to mention you can't really cheat on a console without using 3rd party hardware/software. PC it's so easy to find that 3rd party stuff.

Vice city is just another game on the GTA3 engine. So will the next one, which is rumored to be San Andreas or some such. GTA4 will be on the Playstation 3 because they want to do so many more things with the new one that the playstation 2 cannot handle it. And I for one, have ruined a few pairs of underwear over that.
With any luck, the PS3 will release with GTA4, and there will be much rejoicing.
