Trouble Connecting To Servers

Before anyone asks... yes I've already downloaded Monse's wonncommlist update and installed it, that's doesn't seem to be the problem though.

The problem is whenever I try to connect to a NS server, the panel will come up "Requesting Server Information" count to ten seconds, then tell me "You weren't able to connect." I've tried this on about 30-40 different NS servers with all the same result. This wierd thing though is that only happens with NS servers; Counter-Strike , Firearms, and Day of Defeat all work fine.

This has been happening for maybe a month and a half. The really wierd thing is that today, NS finally connected to a server. I played for an hour or two, estatic that NS finally started working. Then I disconect, browse some forums for a bit, then try to reconnect. The problem's back. Bah... NS is such a sweet game, help me troubleshoot this so I can start playing again.

Have you tryed reinstalling your main program (HL or CS whitchever <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> ) I know that half-life as a game is very temperamental, and suddenly one day it will be all wierd with you and the next be fine, in this case your HL has decided to dislike NS. reinstalling should solve your problem, and a few you didnt know about <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Oh also if your connection is really bad, and with the ping times on servers reaching the thousands, perhaps your connection simply times out.

Are you behind a firewall or NAT or any sort of port-blocking? If you are, you might try to do port forwarding for port 270xx (27000-27999) because those are the ports that most NS servers use (actually, 27015 and 27016 are the most common ports). Alternatively, turn off the firewall/NAT/port blockage. Hope this helps.
