I was waiting for NS but I subscribed on these forums only when the mod was released. I don't consider myself as a "vet"... even if I have a not-bad post count.

If someone mentions your name to someone else and they recognize you not for how skilled you are at playing NS, but for what you've done for the community. I don't really think we can start calling people "vets" when we've only had one version of NS released.
Doesn't get us anywhere anyway, now does it?
On a side note, I only faintly remember the old black forums, and didn't even know there were forums before that.

Post count means nothing.
The date you registered, your maturity, the respect you have for the initial 'vision' of the game and your perception of how NS should be played are all factors. That and, so what if you think of yourself as a vet, it's nothing but another notch to add to your ego.
Didn't the forums change one day and everyone had to re-register, thus resetting (and throwing off) peoples' join dates? Because mine is before DOOManiac's <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I was here a while before NS came out. I remember I came when PHL showed the sentry turret model, whenever that was.
no I don't consider myself a vet. I followed NS for quite a bit of time but registered only for the release because I didn't expect this game to be so great. And I'll be ashamed of that for all my life <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
If there was a title caled Dedicated Poster I think th@annoyingkid and maybe me would be in it. He's got like 10 posts per day <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> I think mines more like 5 or something lower. But I do try to post every day <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

But also, what the fluff does who you know have to do with anything?
It really all depends on the person and what they contribute to the community to be considered a 'vet'. There are alot of people who may have joined the forums early, and never said anything, which i don't think is considered being a 'vet'. However, the majority of people from UBB and earlier, which is pre-January 22nd 2002, are still around and large contributers toward the actual game in some way. I dislike the term 'vet', because it focuses on elitism, like spyder said, which is never a good thing. ^_^
Post count means nothin, member number means nothin and status means nothin. We are all NS fans lets jus leave it at that. In fact i think all tha should be removed from this forum to stop all this "OMG I iz da l337 h4x coz I h4z 1,000,000 posts"

anyway I don't care if you consider yourself vet or not. As long as you're someone nice to play with, you're cool in my book.
