"this place is a mess" comes up when there are lots of marine weapons in the hive room (i.e. you just killed a load of marines, their corpses and guns litter the floor, it's messy).

It is obviously a verb, because you can't say "Time to donce" and donce being some IRC term.

any time ive ever heard "this place is a mess" is when 2 or more hives were under attack at the same time, and ppl just bcuz they pronounce it donce doesnt mean anything get over it IT IS A JOKE

No no it is definately donce. Some important person even said the script (for the voice actors) specifically stated Flayra wanted donce. Here are all the theories I've heard. Ones with * next to them sound best to me

And just so you know, It is Donce... not Dance. All of IRC (Not to mention Clan [MICHIGAN], the SFC, and the PFC) will come and kick the living pance out of you.

Yah, you god to hand it to the hive. It may be nessecary for your survival, but it sure is funny... Kinda like insentive to keep it alive... hrm...

These sounds are easter eggs. You hear them in certain situations and depending on the value of "mp_eastereggchance"

eg:
mp_eastereggchance 0 (easteregg sounds will be enabled in every game)
mp_eastereggchance 1 (easteregg sounds will be enabled in 1 of 2 games)
mp_eastereggchance 2 (easteregg sounds will be enabled in 1 of 3 games)
mp_eastereggchance 3 (easteregg sounds will be enabled in 1 of 4 games)

etc etc

I usually get the 'This place is a mess' easter egg when the Kharaa are doing poorly, normally one-hive against JPers. Which is normal at the moment.

Now we donce is, of course, the three-hive, full-upgrades-available (at least three of each type) signal to get ready to stomp some Marines.

I see dead people, This is my hive, and We need better players, I've only heard through Admin intervention.

thats how an admin makes everyone on the server hear it, there are many marine sayings unheard too btw.
