"map" Not Found On Server

<div class="IPBDescription">little problem just popped up</div> hey, i just freshly reinstalled half life, ns, and hammer. But whenever i try to compile my map it says that the map cannot be found on server <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
has anyone had this problem b4 or am i just gimped?

make sure you have setup your hammer correctly heres a tutorial on how to do exactly this <a href='http://collective.valve-erc.com/' target='_blank'>http://collective.valve-erc.com/</a> when you <b><u>COMPILE</u></b> your map it will place a compiled .bsp in your hl/ns maps folder and then it should find it no problem. but if you do not compile your map and set the output (in hammer) to hl/ns/maps then it obviously wouldnt find it.

nah. I compile in ms-dos prompt, makes all bad things go away

and i compile using a front end compiler thats basically batchfile but a lot of people still use hammer to compile even though it pw33ns your memory.

but when you have got 512Mb, whos going to miss a couple hundred?

i use hammer (whenever i get the urge to try something) (which isn't often) (although i did make a ready room for a friend once) (dunno if he used it or not)
