Yes, it was real. Somewhat. It described it in the article. The technology was used by placing a camera beside the subject wearing the suit. The camera was focused on the objects behind the subject. That way the suit looked like it was invisible. It really wasn't... basically the person was wearing a big green screen on their body.

Looks like the future is here, the future that I always longed for... to be ... to be a part of... the star wars universe. How I cried and longed for all these years to be there... The tears stream down my face now, for that reality is sooo close.
