its choppy
when evey i use voice comm, it breaks up. like if i said "skulks! flanking us from the right side!" it comes out like this:
"flankin-the-side"

it happens sometimes, like 75% of the time i try to use it, and 25% of the time my voice works fine...really weird. so i am damned to useing small phrases like "weld now" and some retarded stuff like that. its really annoying. help?

Sound card:
Sound Blaster Live! Value 5.1

NOTE: yes, i am holding down on the button. its "k" for your information. everyone else's works fine. this also happens in my other mods. i have cs retail. tried reinstallation of everything that is a mod, still screws up. cs, fa, ns...it all blows out, but it happens the most with ns. cs it happens a little bit, rarely, fa it happens little more, ns it happens a lot. thats all the info i can think of, so help meh! please!

Just something to consider. I had awful, random, untraceable, unpredictable voicecomm issues in NS. I did everything you can do to fix it. New hardware, format, the works.

Get this. I finally figured out that it only happened when I used HLManager to launch NS and join games found through HLManager. If I simply launched NS and issued the 'connect' command in the console, my voicecomm worked flawlessly, as it has ever since.

Now I use ASE. The point is, make sure that you eliminate as many variables as you possibly can from your testing environment. Shut down programs, don't use a game launcher, kill antivirus. Assuming that something about your computer has nothing to do with a problem you're experiencing with another aspect of your computer will sometimes cause you to overlook the solution.

Type "rate" at the console to see the actual value

Then type "rate newvalue" to chane it. Try to drop it a bit until it's fine.

    Example: "rate 7500"

try adding (voice_dsound "0" ) in your config file. also write protect it cause HL will set it back to 1 when it stats. if that does not work try setting it to 1.

    it worked for me

yeah i have noticed with newer sounds cards you need that in there. hl setis it to one when you start it so you need to reinput it each time you start NS
