whoa. i just dont think its possible for there to be so many mappers on the face of the earth who a. are good and b. have heard about NS. i love your shots, maybe in the 2nd, or 3rd or whatever, the part where the walkway is slightly elevated off the ground, you might make it higher off.

thanks, The blue parts are aircrafts with rotating fans with smoke particles (how ever its spelt hehe) coming out! <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> i like that particle system

  • NayNay Join Date: 2002-06-09 Member: 741Members
it does look better ingame its just those crappy jpg conversations i did from bmp <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

I agree with LPC.  Your first two shots are very yellow looking, nothing really breaks that color.  If you want suggestions on how to do that you could..

(In the first pic) 1: Those three lights that we can see just past the vent could be a different color.  I would like to see them blue to match the light coming from the vent.  I think that would be a real nice touch.

(In the last two pics)  I really enjoy looking at how you used those red lights.  They arn't too powerful, however they add that contrast that we want to see in the first two pictures.  The pipes also look very well done.

I was also thinking that if you had the blue form the vents cast a light_spot on the ground, that would help break up the yellow.

They are good shots of your map, keep up the great work <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->!

I like it, though to make it better you should add more doors and more exits, and where are the famous NSs particle effects?

I love the lighting... very much so. I don't understand.
Biobrain, there are particle effects in shots 1, 2, and 4.

1,2: Lighting needs more contrast. Its just too constantly yellowish.

    3,4: Love the lighting.

The lighting is good, but a little more <b>contrast</b> is needed I think. I am really liking that architexture though, really well done!

in the top fan area your steam sprites should be more blueish thereby reflecting the light in that area

it looks way too open, some vehicles, aircraft could be added preferably moving crafts.

    umm, aircrafts?.. uh.. where?

anywho, "Nay".. that bluish u got going.. I luh it.. keep it up.. I would love to see you try out making a corridor using the blue lights coming only from the bottom.. textured ones.. use edges of the corridor to make lights bounce alot.. its pretty and u seem to have a feel for putting the lights where they should be *thumbs up*

I love the architecture, but I think you over done the lightning a little bit, it looks too blue-ish and in some screens green-ish. I recommend you put some warm yellow lights in it, to pull the blue/green down.

I obviously am a moron because this looks friggin awesome IMO. And... aircraft? What?
Edit: Yes, yes, this is awesome.

I suggest you read the <a href="http://www.natural-selection.org/MappingGuidelines.htm" target="_blank">Mapping Guidelines</a> and the <a href="http://www.planethalflife.com/nsworld/MappingGuide/MappingGuide.ASP" target="_blank">Quick Start Mapping Guide</a> before you change anything else, so you know where to put everything.
