Star-craft Mod For Serious Sam

Yeah I am not really a fan of Starcraft myself but I knew that a lot of you people in the NS forums are SC crazy and just wanted to show a link to the mod models in progress.

Looks interesting, but I can't really say much until the project is a bit further into development. The modelling looks really nice though.

The problem is that Serious Sam sucks, and is probably not the right engine for this mod.

What'chu talkin' 'bout, Waffles? SS rocks. It's just a different mapping style/concept than the ones HL/UT/XX use. I haven't seen another engine that can support the HUGE battles that SS can, much less with the fun weaponry.

I have a good idea...

How bout we make a mod, call it, Space Fight or something stupid.

Make it remarkbly similar to starcraft, but everything has a different name and stuff.

Like, Humans, Aliens, and Bugs.

Then, then all the fans can make starcraft skins.

And BAM !

We have successfully avoided all copyright laws !

Trouble with Serious Sam is that you spend an awful lot of time running backwards, because the "AI" just makes the enemies charge you. It's a very enjoyable game though, especially any of the sections with 100s of froggy chaps.

Never did finish it though - there was a bit near the end in an arena sort of a setting, where wave after wave of increasingly tough enemies come out of the walls at you. I could never get past the second or third set of bulls.

Serious Sam: The Second Encounter is NOT Serious Sam 2, contrary to popular belief. Yeah it is a second game and not a sequel, and by all means could have been Serious Sam 2. But its not. That's another title still in development by those guys...
