If that is the new picture of Gordon Freeman, then the model who did it (Gabe Newells Brother) must be dead or something, because that guy looks NOTHING like Freeman -- He looks like andy worholl on crack

Actually, Quake is known to set the standards. Expect DoomIII to do the same with it's high-detail but low-poly characters. (yes, that's a GOOD thing)

Somehow I'm not terribly excited except for the fact that it will be a good game. It's no shock or surprise to me that it's announced. It's like the inevitable announcement of Starcraft 2. When it is announced, it won't have any shock value.

    Oh yeah, w00t for HL2.

What would be a shock? "Duke Nukem Forever goes gold!"

Or how about "TeamFortress 2 bundled with HalfLife 2!"

I didnt really like Hl single play...but if hl2 will have the same free mod support, and little lag in multi I'll be buying it no matter what. I might have to bring up my speks again, though.

The shock is in the projected release date apparently. Everybody expected the game, but some who have heard already are surprised by the projected release date.

Duo, you already started a topic about HL2 in Off-topic. Why did you feel the need to post this non-NS-related news item in General as well?

As cool as it is, the announcement of HL2 has nothing to do with NS. Perhaps it will have something to do with a hypothetical NS2. But yeah. Go yap about it in Off-Topic.
