Want this?
I was looking through the hl pak file and found the stukabat.mdl. I'm not sure how well it would convert over to a lerk, but I'm curious if anyone wants me to try and take a shot at it? The stukabat looks like this:

I think that was used as a placeholder for the lerk in early testing

I seem a bit underskilled for the job but I'd love to see it in game. Go nuts!

Ok, well I've never converted a player model. I've only worked with weapon models. I'll try and convert this though....

It looks more evil, than the curret lerk i think.
  • LazerLazer Join Date: 2003-03-11 Member: 14406Members, Contributor, Constellation, NS2 Playtester
Ya it is more evil, and a lot cooler looking if you ask me. All was going well taking the animations and getting the qc file ready to compile the new lerk, when I noticed the reference file only had 1 bone in it. Now I can't compile it because there is no correct reference file... Any ideas?

The skin could do with a bit of tweaking maybe.

Does anyone know how to get the bones to decompile correctly? I've never had this problem before...

Another idea, can someone else try and decompile the stukabat.mdl file and see if the reference file has bones, because the one that I have won't decompile right. I tried sending it to Souris too and it wouldn't work. I have all the animations ready to be compiled, but I need the reference file...

HLMV shows that the stukabat has not only bones, but a large variety of animations. Dunno why yours isn't decompiling correctly.

OK Lazer, I've fixed (ish) the problem with the model - for some reason it had deleted all the names for the bones, so couldn't read them properly. I've put dummy names back in though, so these names will need to match up to the names in your animations. PM me or find me in #nsmodelling.

Here's the "fixed" smd for you, Lazer.
