First Computer Game
<div class="IPBDescription">What was yours?</div> What is the oldest computer game, not console no atari <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->.
I'm talking 80/86, 286, or if you're younger...something else, the first, or one of the first, computer games you ever played???
For me, it was a game called Chopper 2. You were a military (sort of) pilot of a super equipped helicopter that was full with 1 big pixel sized bomb, forward arcing (semi auto, fast if you could hit the spacebar a lot) machine gun, and a limited supply of missiles. It was a side scroller with a number of missions, and two different "bases" you could start from. Hehe, monochromatic, for me it was orange lines and blocks on a black background. And I'll never forget the creator, Mark Carrier, because if you blew a hole in the side of the leftmost cliff, you were able to enter the "MARK CARRIER ZONE!!!" for a free ammo refil.

I don't remember what they were called, but I do remember one being about the 9 little indians. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
The first non-educational game I remember playing was some really old Apogee game called Major Stryker.
It was a simple large pixel game where you fired shells (squares the size of the bold button in the posting dialogue) over a tree at a small moving square on the other side of the screen. It only moved horizontally, you could only fire one shot at a time. If you took too long, text came up saying: "World destroyed, film at 11:00"
edit: btw this was on an Apple ][c
It was a game called Pirates(I think).
You had to build yourself a privateer kingdome of some sort by... well, doing pirate stuff really. And getting married alot( Not sure if that is basic pirate stuff).
Really fun. Played it alot in school between classes.
And we played this on a 286 so you can imagine what it looked like. The sea battles were pretty cool though.
Or an older one (side-scroller) where you fly between a pair of walls, dodging asterisks until you get to the 'boss' of the level.. had to shoot out his moving wall-shield, then shoot it. Then fly through the wall after blasting yourself enough of a gap to slip through. PITA.
but my GOC now is NS.
First game I've owned? Out Of This World
Commodore 64: whiz of war
Well for 1st ever PC games I played would be: Prince of Persia (I think)
But I do remember playing Pac-Man in the arcade, Naudica on my 386 (Enjoyable Edutainment <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> ), and the obligiatory Wolfenstein 3D & Doom. I can remember every game I played on my 386 and up, but anything before that (besides Atari and Nintendo) is hazy... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

WITWICS rules!
oh, and that game in basic where you had to plot the course tragectory of the exploding banana
Did you know that Wolfenstein 3D is really 2D?
if that doesn't count, then I guess it'd be X-Wing on the Mac ...or was it Dark Forces?
Haven't played it, but was a pretty good game back then (I hope?)

Lunar Lander owned!!! OMG, I remember that game, I had an Apple ][ clone too. It eventually fried itself for some reason or other, computers were so prone to static and overheating in them days. Actually inherited the little bugger from my uncle. Learnt to program on it. I made alot of my own games in Apple basic when I was a kid watching ASCII jump around the screen. Kids have it too easy nowadays.
Most other games are too obscure to even remember.

I REMEMBER THAT GAME!! It was hidden or something in the windows system tools or somewhere not related to games, this was before start button. You were like a king kong guy and had to explode another guy across the the city. First game I played, I think it was Oregon Trail. First game I owned was the original X-Wing.
On PC my first game was either Testdriver (created my love for Testarosa) or Leisure Suit Larry 1 (created my love for... eh, never mind <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->)
Pirates on C64 was and is a great game. It also lasts much longer than the version for PC called Pirates Gold. I still have my map over the carribean and I still play it from time to time on emulator. My diskdrive to C64 has sadly died so I have to use an emulator. I offer a cookie to anyone who knows how to make the second disc for the emulator to work. Buggs med that I can't retire my mighty pirates <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yea i think thats what it was called. It was incredibly fun, but it was hard as hell without a joystick...it was pretty fun with a joystick too <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->.

oh and for the pc the first games we had were doom, star wars: tie fighter, and megarace. but megarace was sort of newer, it was on cd and the others were discs. we still have those 3 games somewhere, maybe ill fire up tie fighter for some nostalgia...
