Easter Egg Sounds And Triggers

<div class="IPBDescription">Some help?</div> I heard from someone on IRC that there are easter-egg sounds in NS, such as "Now... we dance" and the "This hive is mine..." one, and he also told me that they can be triggered by some console command in-game, but he never told me any commands.
What I would like to know is: what are the commands to trigger these sounds? I think I've heard people trigger them more than once in-game, but I don't know how.

Any help is appreciated.

[Oh, and by the way - I tried a Search, but I couldn't seem to turn up any commands...]

the hive says "Now we dance" when you get 3 hives..

also had the amusing "This place is a mess!!" from the hive.

It is my own theory that the sound "this place is a mess" has a small percent chance to trigger when a heal spray is used. Also there is another topic about eastereggs on the first page...

I really want to hear "this hive is mine..." one in game, I went through the sounds dir and listened to them all. I like the "Now..we dance!" one, and I came up with a really creepy way to use these, with an AI fade appearing and blinking out of existence harassing the marines, but that'd kinda only be kewl the first time you played the level, since it'd be the same ai_scripted sequence each time, and probably only be the first time you'd jump and try to shoot it.

I hear "this place is a mess" a lot, but rarely if ever heard the others without going into the sound directory...I used to remember the console command to set the chance of getting easter eggs, but I don't really remember any more. It was something like eastereggchance, I think, with sv_ or something before it.

It's very clearly and deliberatly "Now, we donce"

Don't ask why, it just is.

You might notice that there's a server variable for "easter egg percent chance" If the chance (usually something like 2% or so) occures, certain events will make the easter eggs sound. Getting the 3rd hive will trigger "Now, we Donce" and having a certain number of chambers built (exact number unknow) will trigger "This place is a mess"

I've never heard any others in game, so I've no idea how to trigger them, if at all possible in 1.0x

I always thought that "This place is a mess" was a replacement for either "Our hive is under attack" or "Our hive is dying." I know the last few times I've heard it was directly after a marine attack on a hive. That and the other two eggs appear to be replacement sounds for regular hud sounds.

"Now we dance" (err donce I guess) is definetly played when a hive (most likely the third) goes up (there are regular hud files alien_hivecomplete1.wav & alien_hivecomplete2.wav that look like they are intended to be played when a hive is up, but I personally have never heard them ingame).

"This is my Hive..." I've only heard once while playing and I believe that it is a replacement for "cleanse the intruders", but the time I heard it there were three or four admins also playing as aliens who all have a known tendency to be weird.

"Now we donce" comes in occassionally when the 3rd hive goes up

"This place is a mess" is a strange one, I hear it quite a bit, but generally only at the 1 hive point. I have heard it more than often when the 2nd hive is building or just finished building.

"I see dead people" can be heard when you're sitting in line waiting to respawn. The chance seems to go up the more people there are dead

"We need better players" seems to occur when almost the entire team has been killed very quickly. It's a very rare one however. Best times are generally after a big rush fails catastophically.

"This is my hive, there are many like it, but this one is mine" I've never heard. I've also never heard how to activate it.

"Don't just sit there, do something!" occurs in the commander chair when there are requests for health/ammo and reports of attacks and you havn't done much or idled. It can occur fairly frequently.

That's all the ones I know of.

And it is "donce," by the way... the script Flay gave to the voice actress actually made the distinction. (;

Anyway, i get "this place is a mess" a lot, it seems to occur for me when marines are in our hive. I heard "now, we donce" once as well.
I believe flay made it donce to start some form of cult. It worked.
The guy needs more credit than we give him (yes, that is possible. Just.)

I read that if a gorge is at an empty hive for about 1 minute and it will say that. But I haven't tried it so I'm not sure.

the easter eggs rule, and there <b>is</b> a way to moderate them, but I'm *zips lips*
they should remain random, becuase if you hear them to much then they don't become fun anymore...

"THis Place is a mess" I think occurs when a bunch of chambers (offense, defense, whatever) start getting destroyed quickly.

Now...we donce is the only other wierd phrase Ive ever heard.
