Just a matter of finishing getting in shape, and growing a ridiculous WW2 style RAF moustache (umm....no).
If it wasn't for sucky eyesight and Asthma.
I'll just go for the Police Firearms team then!!!
Out of 15,000 forum members, remember. So far it's far below US or UK per capita numbers...
And I find it somewhat surprising that Beast is going into the RAF. I had you rather pegged for a tree-hugger. Although you might want to learn now that if you 'enlist' in the armed forces, you will be an 'enlistedman'. If you are 'commissioned', you will be a lieutenant (or whatever rank is used to described the lowest and most useless of officer ranks in your branch of choice).
But good on ya anyways. Hopefully you will see the world a bit, and expand your usually very rosey outlook on life to include a big of pragmatism <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Base: ...somewhere in the middle of Switzerland, though that doesn't really matter. I mean it takes you, what, two steps to reach the border in any direction?
Not all flyboys fly planes. All the 3C0X1's do Communications jobs. I'm a network administrator. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
And yah twisted, me and adam are the elite death crew of doom on HG. He crib is rather well know around the USA from what I here. I know he schools me in every dam game ever. Its annoying, though I have to confess that I dont really like quake that much. I am all for the HL still.

Me? A tree hugger? Nah, just a responsible human <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> I'm the most pragmatic person I know. Remember MonsE, just because I disagree, it don't mean I'm wrong.
In fact its because I am responsible that I'm joining up.
And yes, you're right, I'd be commisioned as I've got the necessary after my name. :guilt:
Actually I'm quite upset about the tree hugger thing.

James Bond Junior?!?
Saluting. I know that when I salute a superior occifer (sic), that I'm saluting his hat, as a representation of Her maj's authority. He/she salutes in aknowledgement.
Theres a joint operation, like Operation Iraqi whatever, would a US airman salute my hat? Would I salute a higher ranking occifer (sic) in the US armed forces hat and the reublic for which it stands? I'm puzzled.

Not sure on that one. I believe you dont have to but that you should do it anyway out of respect for the rank. I do know that we also salute differently to the US armed forces. In the UK the correct way to salute is with the palm of the hand facing outwards whilst in the US you salute with the palm of the hand facing downwards.
I can also tell you the origins of where the salute actually came from and that it originates from the dark ages in europe where Jousting was popular. Before both combatants rode towards each other with thier lances they would face each other and raise thier visors to aknowledge each other. Because the fingers on the gauntlet glove supplied with the armour were not very manouverable this was commonly done using the back of the palm. Take away the armour and this action resembles a salute...
Also the Navy does salute in the same palm down style as the US armed forces. This is because should her maj suddenly drop by, and the ratings have been handling dirty ropes, it wouldn't be seemly to show dirty gloves/palms to her highness.
Yeah, I've had a think and I would tend to agree, you do it out of respect for rank (of the foreign officer), after all, when there no hat, theres no salute (over here).
The Royal Navy ratings were generally thought not to do this behavior while the army adopted the palm forward to prove the soldier wasn't carring a weapon.
British Military Tradition Rules!
US Military are required to salute foreign officers as well in accordance with their own rules. (i.e. Only outside, when you're not in a no-hat, no-salute zone). US Forces receive a briefing on how to tell a foreign officer's rank, and when in garrison, the foreign officers display the US Equivalent on their shirts for ease.
