<div class="IPBDescription">Starring Vin Diesel</div> Went out to a theme park today, they had a movie theater there, so I figured what the heck. Me and my friend go in and see A Man Apart (he insisted on Piglets Big Adventure....), I was expecting something along the lines of Max Payne...well....

The movie isnt too much about action, no real memorable shootouts or stunts. What was annoying was the gratuitous nudity and cursing, Im as straight as the next guy, but if I wanna watch pr0n I will do it at home not in a movie theater. Look at the greatest action flicks of all time: Rambo, Terminator 2, The Matrix, none of them had any nudity and the cursing was always validated somehow.

IMHO, nudity is just filler for when theres no real story, which leads me to the next part: The plot is very very basic (AKA: there is alot of nudity). Its not as gritty as Max Payne (it takes place in California for Gods sake) but the story is almost the same. Minus the almost poetic writing, twisting plot, and any feeling that Vinny boy is actually angry. I dunno, just for the entire movie it felt like Vin wasnt really angry, like he was just getting the job done yadda yadda yadda. He just wasnt the badass ex-DEA Agent he could have been.

In short: One time flick for when your a bit bored, don't expect any great/innovative camera work or really gritty plot. And for all that is good and sweet, if you have played Max Payne DO NOT see this movie. Your expectations will be set to high if you have.

The sad part is, I've seen better acting, a grittier twisting plot, and better action scenes in the tv series, The Shield (only on FX). I dunno, this movie just had so much potential but the whole "loose cannon" feel was completly left out.
