Finding a good pair
Anyone know a pair of good headphones I can get? The $20 pair i bought from best buy just died after only two months , so I'm looking for another good pair. It has to have a built-in microphone, and be reasonably priced (~$40-50 at most). Also, preferably those really big headphones that cover your whole ears and deliver massive sound, that would be good too.

I might be able to fix this pair if I could open it up and re-solder the connections, only thing is I cant figure out how to open it up without busting it to pieces.

Anyways, anyone got any suggestions?

Koss and Platronics im partial too. I own a Koss R50/B, and my bro has a Platronics .Audio90 which are also very nice. Both sets cost about $40 each.

Sennheisers are great-- I own a pair of HD-570s and I love them. I recommended them to a friend, and he was so happy with them that he bought a pair for home and for his office.

You can usually grab them on ebay in the fifty-ish dollar range.

Try and pick up a pair of These mate! They are brilliant headphones I kid you not! Yes they are slightly above your price range BUT they Will last for years and years and years. I know about these things as my trade is DJing. Individual parts can be replaced eg. drivers, cables, foam ear pieces.. so if something does go wrong down the line they can easily be fixed. The sound quality you get from these is fantastic. The only drawback I can think of is that they are ugly mo fo's. But the amount of times I have used cool looking headfones but they were utter crap is almost uncountable.

Anyways it's your choice but I would direct you to the Sennheiser range as they produce quality built to last equippment.

    Have fun!

Hmm, I've also been looking for a good set of headphones. Since everyone so far seems to be pushing the Sennheiser's, I'll have to give 'em a try.

Sweet zombie jesus, that price can't be right!! I was hoping to take a trip to da 'shop this weekend to buy them, but that's way above my expected $70 range.

So I guess the only way to go in this case is through eBay. I'll probably be going through lists for an hour, trying to find a seller who'll ship to Canada.

If you're getting headphones check something that looks good, that's what I did! I got some pretty cheap one's just like you're looking for. Bendable Mic, and your ears are envolved in them. Mine were $14.99, I forgot the name, sorry about that.
