Those show more info than just fps, like ping and other useful things.
... That's bad ain't it. Well here are my lousy cpu specs:
933 mhz
WinXP
256 SDRAM
Riva TNT model 64 (old <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->)

Look through <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=18&t=8100' target='_blank'>this</a> thread, particularly at Crouching Hamster's post on the first page. Hopefully something there will help.

almost same system as mine <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
BUT
i got 900mhz, 384mb SDRAM, and a GeForce3 Ti200 ... 14fps in intense situations <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
That is excellent, dont get me wrong... I'm sure people would be very annoyed with me for complaining about something like that, but I have to use a script which sets my fps_max to 70 and back again for when I'm jetpacking, or my jetpack is useless because I go up way too fast for me to control it...

Funny story: One match on nothing, we had the aliens down to one hive with a combination of ha/jping. I have a jet pack and because of the fps bug, I was flying around via with pretty much infinate fuel. Then the team hops over to powersilo to finish them off. I fly ahead and get to power first. I start flying around plugging the hive with my hmg. My fps is running at 85, so even though my jp bar is empty, it refills fast enough to keep me from dropping. Then the HA squad arrives as do the remaining fades and lerks and the **** hits the fan. My fps drops and so do I into that killer goo that rings powersilo. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

lol i have the same stuff but i have 40-50 in fights and 70 in empty rooms <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
but on missilcommand O_O 20 fps!!! :'(
I also only play alien, pretty much, so I don't get the JP bug advantages anyway <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
i have
2400 mhz
WinXP
256 SDRAM
Geforce 2
Running hl in 800 by 600 open gl
i usually get 30-40 fps with no combat and 10-20 in combat
I had the same problems (amd 900, geforce256) but was able to solve it with fps_max (not at first btw. try around with the rates, eventually you should notice a significant change in fps. I have my rate at 70 or something around that.)
1.1 will fix the "all depends on your fps" feature.

and im very glad that will be changed. i can play any modern game just fine with 15-25 fps, BF1942 or ut2k3 or morrowind, whatever top of the line software i want i can play and enjoy at 15 fps.
but NS is the first thing to come along where i actually need 80 fps to keep up with my competition. redemption takes about 20 seconds to activate at 20 fps, which makes it worthless. jetpacks barely get me up on a ledge, where i then have to sit and regen fuel for 30 seconds, and my clanmates can build an RT about 5 seconds faster than i can build an IP.
its rediculous and i cant wait for 1.1 !!
