<div class="IPBDescription">i need a program to do it</div> i have a winxp, meaning that i can't work on any DOS based programs. however, i need a good spray program that will work in NS.
Download <a href='http://webplaza.pt.lu/richarme/downloads.html' target='_blank'>Half-Life Tag Converter</a>
I don't remember exactly where you have to put it, but there is a folder where are those other default spray logos. You must delete all of those default logos first and then add that own logo in there.
Ok, this is what i did. I try to explain this with my bad english <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
1. Download that Tag Converter and launch it
2. Open that image in that program which you want to use in NS
3. Press adjust image and then click "Apply changes and convert to 256 colors"
4. Save tag
5. Export to wad.file (name that file to "pldecal")
6. Put that wad file in that same folder and replace the old "pldecal.wad" file
7. Put that wad file in x:/Sierra/Half-Life/NS and replace that "pldecal.wad" file from there too
8. Launch NS and dont go in that menu (IF YOU GO IN THAT SPRAY MENU FOR PREVIEWING YOUR LOGO, IT DOESN'T WORK AFTER THAT).

SPECIFICS: The halflife engine stores your spray in the file named pldecal.wad. If you use Wally to make a texture, it must be named Logo in the file pldecal.wad. Wad files are the custom files that half-life uses to store its textures. Your spray is simply another texture, and can't exceed an arbitrary amount of pixels(10752, to be exact or 128*84 pixels)
The reason that you were told to delete your logos files is because, if you click customize in lan game or internet game, it will rewrite pldecal.wad with all the logo files, hence, your custom spray is overwritten. An easier way to stop this is to make pldecal.wad read only by right clicking -> properties, check read-only.
Where to put your spray: you put your spray in the directory of your mod. If you want to use your spray in cs, you put it in the cstrike folder. If you want to use it in NS, put it in the ns folder.
I use wally for my work, but i do it all manually. Best to learn about it and do it yourself than assume everything's gonna get it perfect first time on default.
