Using a keyboard for anything but typing will feel stupid after you have tried a nostromo. They are great. Every person I know who has tried my Nostromo in HL has bought it within a week and loves it except 2 people, one of whom doesnt own a pc, and the other doesnt have the $ to buy it (beacause hes cheap). The nostromo is great. I tried WASD and it was a lame contorsion of my hand. U/D/L/R worked for me for about 6 years of my PC gaming life. But then i tried the nostromo! It really rocks, has no learning/adjusting time beyond 5 minutes, and lets you rid yourself of your damn keyboard. Its also really easy for Noobies. The onlything that i think stops it from becoming really popular is that movment is done with a Dpad with your thumb. Youll soon find that this method is more comfortable and QUICKER to change direction then WASD or "UpDoLeRi". If you really dont want to use the Dpad you dont have to anyway, as it lets you bind it any way you want. It can even detect what game your playing and switch to that game's config. Its worked in every game ive tried, as Windows interprets the nostromo as a 2nd Keyboard. Nostromo also can have macros (which I havent tried). Another thing I like is that the nostromo has the keys you WANT, and none that you DONT WANT, making it small so it doesnt take up all the space in front of you. Its great for laptops, as they have lame KBs anyhow. That way i can put my Nostromo to my left, my mouse to my right, and anything else i want in the center, like a JOYSTICK or food or a Micophone. Because i have a mic, i really dont need to type much in HL, so i can set my KB aside and use the extra space for snacks/dinner and similar.
The nostromo for me makes gaming 2x better. You can play for 2 days straight and still have you hands be totally comfortable.
BTW, the full name if you go looking for it is n50 Nostromo Speedpad by Belkin.
The n30 and n40 are Belkin's nostromo mouse and gamepad respectivly. I heard they suck, particularly the mouse, which has only 2 buttons, is a ball mouse, and has bad ergonomics (so ive been told). It also looks ****, if that matters to you.

does anyone else use on of these?
i would highly recomend one, they take a little getting used to, but once youve used it, there is no comparison ot a keyboard
