Need Help With Ns Bg Story If Possible

Im trying to get some form of cathedral into my creativity-urge-killing (damn laziness and cycles of interest) map. So I was thinking of some form of civilian cult, uhh Im guessing theyd worship the intersystem phasegate in some ways. Any ideas on how I could expand on this would be greatly welcome as it seems eerily vague and I cant find the right background.

I want to make a big cultist cathedral type thing for one of my hive locations, I was thinking this cult would worship the big intersystem phasegate constructed by generic corporation X but maybe not. I was just trying ot see if anyone else how a cult in the ns future would work and what would they worship. I dont want them worshipping the kharaa cause thats just sad.

Edit: I really want the cathedral but I want it to make a little sense and not just be random so this is why I ask.

Well, make it cool somehow. If they do worship phastegates, would it be possible to construct a phase-gate-like-device that was built into the map? That'd be pretty hot.
