Donations to the ns team for extra goodies

<div class="IPBDescription">May seem like a oddball idea...</div>This may be a silly and or stupid question, but what sending the Devs donations for little extras in the game like a unique player head, skin, or something not balance altering.
Say a person plays as a Human alot, so he gives the devs a donation, and gets a unique Marine skin (or head or whatever.)  Kinda what Sven Co-op and Desert Crisis are doing.

I would pay to have a unique & custom Marine Skin myself, but one that I make up (but approved by the Devs of course), and possibly others would like a unique skin too.  Thoughts devs?  Maybe the donated money could go to a 100% official NS server...  HMMmmmmm  <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->  Or thier pocketbook as gratitude from the public for making such a badass mod!

the question that  seems to jump out at ya, is why pay for something one can do already?, and also, do you think others want their dl to be that much bigger just so that you can line the ns teams pockets? ( not that they dont deserve it )

Eh?  so that means no server as of now?  Ugh, i hope this straightens itself out before NS hits the streets.  I think I must have said it a thousamd times, but NS can DEFINATELY use those servers.  So yeah, anyone who still feels like donating, please give generously to the NS Dedicated Server Fund.

Yes I have seen that other thread about the server donations.  I was even thinkin about donatin when I have some extra cash.  I guess I shouldve been a bit more specific on "unique".  Unique meaning that instead of redoing the entire marine skin so that only you see the new skin(s) locally, I mean a unique skin associated with your WONID that others can see in MP games, but not use themselves.  So you would look different that the other standard marines on the server.  But if you really wanted to, someone could do a replacement skins pack, but as I tried to explain above, it wouldnt be exactly the same thing.   <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

Besides, if you think about it, when this mod is done, by itself it'll be a massive download (im guessing at least 100mb), so what difference does a few extra skin files make?  Besides, there is no guarantee that this will happen at all, so all unfortunate ppl with dial-ups, dont sweat it just yet  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
