This started happening after I installed generals. I also installed new 4-in-1 drivers for my chipset... I don't know what's up with this. I have no hope of posting it on the generals forum...a agrh

    xp.

man, I thought I didn't submit this thread. I really thought I closed the window because nobody would really be able to help me (I sent an email to EA support and they promptly replied, hooray). Oh well. my mind has been playing tricks on me lately.

I know what that is. Though I wish I didn't...

It has nothing to do with Generals, its a hardware problem.

Go into your BIOS and do "Reset plug & Play configurations". that resets the IRQ on all your cards, usually fixing this problem. if that doesn't cut it and you still crash, it may mean something has died. For me, it was a stick of ram. You may have to play w/ pulling out various hardware till the problem goes away...

    Good luck to you...

Go do a search on Google find some one with same problem and simlar stats of your comp

Try updating drivers (3d card mainly)

Chip update maybe but not to sure for all I know that in win9x you have to do via driver first and never update after or you will get bluescreen a lot for XP not so sure

basicly it is device drivers or hardware
