<div class="IPBDescription">what are the best....</div> ive played alot of customs, missilecommand, lost, siege, etc. are there any other good customs out there. eclipse and nothing are getting stale again <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> post some replies please.

ive played, all missilecommands, all sieges, lost, ciliris (or whatever the spelling is), the mach maps, and pretty much everything that pops up on joe.to's server and thats on the mayberry games site. just looking for some new customs.

    There was a post a while ago on all the possible ns maps that might be in vers 1.1.
    Alot of them are released already, or at least in the beta stages, so you might want to search around the forums for that.

    IMHO, ns_lost is the best non-official map out thier right now. I havn't run into any major gameplay issues while running it, and it is very atmospheric.

    Pulling a close second is ns_europa, which is a visually beautiful map. However it's layout suffers from a MAJOR gameplay flaw. There is one room that should the marines take it, they can seige every hive on the map <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    As for the misslecommands and seige maps, well, they are kind of amusing, but much like any simple custom map, get very old very fast.

    That needn?t be a flaw in the map. It adds a new dynamic. That becomes the absolutely most valuble spot on the map for the aliens to protect and for the marines to take. It certainly may be a flaw, but if the map is designed for that type of gameplay then don't write it off so quickly.

    europa and lost are two best custom's, the missilecommands and sieges are good fun but not for serious, hardcore play

    I dont like lost, I think its TOO big myself.

    I love europa, I dont even bother with the 3 hive spot, you can take cargo with 1 turret fac thats IN your base. I think if the map were stretched out maybe 50% larger i'd be great.

    Greian_Beta is a pretty cool map, but it lacks a good vent system.

    11th hour is cool, and a fades paradise for blink, but its pretty hard for aliens.

    Cilrais is my favorite custom map, the only problem is that old rock texture that's also in hera <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Just cause you've seen it posted by Flayra doesn't mean it's going to be in 1.1. It could be any other map submission submitted that Flayra happened to be testing on. Although, I'd put more money on Lost becoming official than any other map.

    The only custom map I've played is Europa. I don't really know the layout, and the space under the marine spawn is kinda annoying, and the marine spawn is a bit too small in general, but other than that, I had lots of fun on all the games I played on it. And it looks pretty nice, too. I suppose whenever I have some actual free time I'll check out how Lost plays.

    Greian beta and Atomic mass are pretty good.

    Europa is a SMALL map - its about 1/3 the area of caged for example. Obviously, it must have been designed before sieges could shoot through walls, because the map is shock-full of double siege points, not to mention that one of the hives can be sieged from the room outside the marine base.

    Basically, ns_europa requires the marines to NOT build sieges for it to be playable.

    Hehe Europa is a marine map all the way. You got 3 free RTs for the taking from the marine start and +1 more if you want to take the nearby hive (yknow the siegeable one from near the marine start).

    Ive played alot of customs map, all of the above (except ns_trane wich I have on my pc but havent found a server that has it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> ) and also some others like square_WTH and ns_2base and another (I forgot the name), but most of the custom map are just funmaps, fun too play after a few hardcore rounds, especially ns_missilecommand and ns_siege005, its not about how nice the map looks, its not about the textures, its not about mapgameplay, and its definitly not about art, its all about fun and the ns engine, and after 1 or 2 rounds it gets boring but their still k maps to play (keep ur eyes on the enemy and not on the walls <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ), and even a baby could make those maps, but why don they? <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Napo has been progressing, I really think it needs a re-build Asraniel as the layout is there.

    Personally the best custom maps that have been released(in no special order) are:

    lost
    atomic mass
    trane
    europa
    andromeda

    These maps are very good...Andromeda is particularily interesting as the entity problem has made several advances for the better on the map.

    you played the final version? i think i solved some problems with the layout whith adding a additional way and some doors...
