Colonialism? Like the ham-fisted European colonialism that turned the Middle East into the gem it is today?
No, wait, I forgot, the US is the cause of all the problems in that region of the world.
Hey, just because we're screwing it up now doesn't mean it was a real paradise to begin with. Botching the world is, and always has been, a team effort.
The countries the scream the most that they dont want a war are the ones that have most interests in Iraq. Ppl say the US is gonna wage war over oil and yet it is in fact France, Germany, Russia and China that are the ones protecting thier oil(and other) interests. Personally I dont have a prob with someone protecting thier interests.......however if by protecting those interests they put my country or even other countries at risk I do care. Seems to me those 4 countries are more concerned with their sweet deals than they are with the safety of other ppl in the world.
And by the way...France threatening former members of the Warsaw Pact with exclusion from the EU if they side with the US is complete and utter bullsh*t! What kind of crap is that?
I say the US should pull its military out of Germany and France and instead place the bases in the countries that were in the Warsaw Pact. After all France and Germany dont want us there anyway so lets just leave. Besides those former members of the Warsaw pact are closer to our(the US) modern day threats anyway.

By the way, I am that German mod, and I couldn't give a crap about whether somebody calls the patch of soil I live on a 'worm' or not - nations and nationalism are in my perception an overaged concept either way.
The only question that I ask myself is why the withdrawal of US troops (out of whichever 'they're not with us, they must be against us' motivations they may come) should create issues for Germany. This country is surrounded by countries it has made friendship with, 'we' haven't been in war for 50 years now, mostly because we decided not to attack somebody. I am in all honesty not afraid of any threat the American military could save me from (nope, they can't save me from a terrorist attack).
Aside from that, Germany is one of the biggest trading partners of the US. If you really want to boycott German products, get out of that car of yours, throw your freezer away, and don't even think about using the PC you're reading this with.
Concerning the imperialism discussion: Leaving the Leninist/Capitalist definitions aside (I'm inclined to agree with Zergling on that one), the US used something called 'Dollar Imperialism', which is in so far no direct imperialism that the country isn't made a colony, but instead put into economic dependence. Most countries of South America are still in this kind of relation with the US.

First, the politican who made the 'Bush-Hitler' comparison, former secretary of justice Herta Däubler-Gmelin, didn't compare Bushs character traits, but his propagandistic practices (it had become obvious that the Pentagon had been feeding the media with wrong informations) with the Third Realm, not Hitler in person. This comparision was the end of her political career.
At the same time, I see p.e. senator Tom Lantos, not to mention Donald Rumsfeld, downright insulting the German and French governors and governments ("Old Europe", "Uninformed and stupid", "Comparable to Cuba and Lybia"), with - no - consequences at all for them.
