<div class="IPBDescription">cuz I just loss the use of one hand</div> Alright, I'm pretty sure I just broke my wrist(I fell, what a wussy way to break a bone)I'm wondering if anyone knows if joysticks are decent with NS. And, if so, if anyone could recomend a particular kind.
This took me about 6 minutes to type. DAMN

And the first thing you did was let us know? Wow, we must really be special! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
The second thing you did was ask how to get around a temporary deficiency to continue playing NS. Good man! You've been trained well! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
But as for a joystick, the main problem would be aiming up and down, basically the joystick would be for moveing =/ so don't think joysticks are any better than mice with only 1 hand working.
So my suggestion is to start training with your toes, toes are just as good as fingers when you learn to use them...
Yeah, what he said.
Go get 'em tiger!
Just remember, you fell.... oout of a 30 foot tree, trying to retrieve a kitten.
and stabbing at the keys with wild head thrusts :-D
oookay lets see. for NS you need 2 axes for moving, 2 axes for looking, and assorted buttons.
To do that with one hand is currently impossible unless you don't mind mapping a joystick's axes to looking, and the hat switch(es) to movement.
just wait until they have psionic links between man and machine. games will be REALLY good by then <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
No. You were saving a kitten from a burning, helpless old lady in the rain with your coat on the ground, while helping a door you opened across the street into the grocery bag you carried into your mom's SUV. It should either scare off the chicks, or reel em in. Either way, blame Legionnaired.
..
Why not go to a doctor and find out, as that's pretty serious.
I remember when I broke my arm in 2nd grade. I learned to play Nintendo w/ my feet using the big NES Advantage joystick. Got damn good at it too :D

Now THATS an achievement ladies and gentlemen! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Dip it in plaster, wrap it in cloth and some mesh, and then paint it black. Instant pity.
and if it is your right had, you are safe.
assuming you busted your wrist (and NOT sometihng in your hand) you should still be fine moving your fingers and your upper arm (thus keys and mouse)
Gah, you and your silly logic. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I can play ps2 with one hand, but I don't know about NS, would be tough <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
There's 3 types of Dvorak keyboard layouts (as opposed to standard Querty) that can be easily set up by going to the keyboard settings in the Windows control panel. One layout for left-handers, one for right-handers, the other (which I use) for normal 2-handed use.
The layout I use took about 2 weeks to "learn" to normal speed. Puts all vowels on the left hand's home row, and common letters like d, h, t, n, s on the right hand's home row; I've noticed better accuracy and comfort when typing for longer periods of time, but some people claim typing speed increases as well.
The left- and right-hand layouts are meant for amputees to have fairly decent typing ability. Print out a pic of the layout (search for Dvorak online) and if you're a quick learner, you should be back to a near-normal typing speed.
