Tanith Picture

<div class="IPBDescription">Boo-boo on mappers part?</div> I saw something on ns_tanith. Outside of the sat comm hive. In the middle of the wall, there is one section textured as the alien infested growth, surrounded by normal wall texture. See attached image. I'm just wondering if this was a slight texturing mistake by the mapper?

Oh, and by the way, I did brighten the image in photoshop, my gamma aint THAT high.

    hah thats just called "variety" to avoid boring repetitive walls.
    Ive seen some REAL texture misttakes on all official maps but I dont care.

    I noticed that since my second ever NS game (the first map i ever played was eclipse, tanith after) and i just assumed it was a deliberate thing.

    To those who do not understand, it is not the fact that there is webbing junk there, it is that the texture is one of the ones which would normally interlock with other textures. Instead, the texture abruptly ends, leaving a line of green pixels which do not fit in with the normal texture of webbing. If you still do not get it, it is like chopping off part of a picture.

    IT's not a mistake. It's there on purpose so it dosn't look repetitive like the dust maps.

    another boo boo on the mapper's part... you can go out of the map.. thats right you can walk right out if you are a skulk. that are where you can shoot the laserbeam through, the ceiling is buggy, and you can kind of go off the map in some areas. some servers have it fixed though, like nano.. the mapper should probably fix this, it can be quite annoying for both aliens and marines. [edit] it doesnt work all the time, i just tried to take some pics off a lan game and it didnt work.. [/edit]

    If you look cloesly, the floor underneath that wall has the alien texture on it also. I presume he ment to do what he did. It's nearing a hive, so he wanted the slightly infested look, but the texture is meant for repeating, not one spot, so it clips off.
