    Of course the nuke existed.
It got removed because there was nothing against a nuke rush, building tons of turrets at marine spawn and wait till you can effort 2-3 nukes for each hive and you had won.

Actually, by this, it was the most accurate nuke GFX to date.

Not to mention the ENTIRE map rumbled after the nuke was detonated.

It was just a link to show some people who either had never heard of it or never thought it was true that it was really there. I have heard discussions about it and I was just interested.

In the state that it was in..yes, but that doesn't mean it can't be changed. You may see a return of it in a future version. =)

I would like to see it make its way back in one form or an other. It falls into the <b>'Way too cool to not include'</b> category <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Aye, with some limits on it to prevent abuse, I could see the reintroduction of the nuke being a lot of fun. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Heck, just to be able to say, "Someone set us up the bomb" after losing to one as aliens would be priceless. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Pah, Mega-lo-mania did a screen going white thing when the nuclear weapons were used, accompanied by a scientist bloke going "We nuked them!". That was 12 years ago (I think).

wow, old icons gfx > present ones.

Hey, is it possible to check out some of the old versions of maps? Would be interesting for variety and novelty but also I am curious as to how the maps changed.

Cool nuke. To bad... Or maybe not, i guess.

*I* didn't hear about it, probably because I don't read all the new posts every day... and someone told me nuke command was really gl command so I ignored nuke posts until now. Anyway, I think nuke has AWESOME potential. It could definitely add some variety to the games. I don't see why it couldn't be priced expensive enough (or take long enough) that marines couldn't just turret up in their base and easily win. It might actually be possible to make 3rd hive enhancements more than just a way to end the game quickly once it's clear aliens have won. Imagine: you're holding out for the ability to nuke all the hives at once, while onos are charging all over your base. Just 30 more seconds and we win! Or we lose! That's it, no more chances. Most of the games as Marines consist of simply prolonging the inevitable, once the 2 hive stage of the game is well under way. There must be a way to add nuke back into the game and not make it a cheap way to win, because the "either-or" of marine strategies, i.e. pg rush or jp/hmg rush, is kind of getting tired.

I think as it is, only aliens have a real ability to make a comeback. If marines lose 2 hives, it's pretty much over, unless you've secured a lot of resources... not likely. But if the marines have two hives, aliens still have a decent chance of taking one out. Maybe nuke isn't the way to provide a chance for marine comebacks, but it could add something good.

Maybe it's just me but when this topic was started about four posts below it was a post titled 'What is the nuke?' and every other day there's a post 'what's this 'nuke' command?' and 'put teh n00k bak in!'

Did I not also notice a flamethrower in that commander view build list? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Uranium just because they took the nuke out before doesn't mean we can't discuss ways to implement it. I mean the original idea was quite unbalanced, but some of the others that have been thrown around are quite good. Please don't automatically dismiss people who suggest it come back in. I believe with good testing and balancing a nuke could be quite viable in gameplay terms.

What people think is a flamethrower is a placeholder icon for the welder; no more.

in regards to the actual build menu itself, what is everything? i mean, as far as i can tell, this is what is shown:

    ammo health mines

    weird looking box? welder shottie

the nade launcher as a hmg? the early nade launcher? the previously mentioned nuke..

the items with question marks next to them deserve contemplation, at least. this thread is in regard to the linked picture... the pictures under media on the main page feature the old menu anyhow, thus more questions.

Check the skills.cfg in your ns folder and you'll find it, and some other things I'm too lazy to ask what is it............

    Nukes.... LoL.

Pssst: It says at the top: DO NOT MESS WITH THIS or something like that, right? Ignore it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> . You can change the spawn time, res every tick, research time, cost and MUCH More. Only works on LAN, but it's fun to have 100000 res at the start at as Marine <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> , or build 2 Hives at the start and got WOL's everywhere after 10 min.... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Ignore the DO NOT MESS WITH THIS, I've changed REALLY much in it at it doesn't affect my game.
