What's on it?
At the moment, I'm absolutely addicted to Nickleback's "Hero" - you might remember it from the Spiderman credits. If you haven't seen Spiderman, you should be shot... if you don't remember the song, it's a perfect excuse to see it again! And if you *do* remember the song, you remember that it kicks booty and you definitely want to go see the movie to hear it again.

Other than that, Hoobastank gets the majority of my listening time, seconded by the Blade 2 soundtrack. Good stuff!

What do YOU listen to? Yeah, you!

Well, considering my playlist is 1700+ songs... err... I tend to scroll to the techno section alot- specifically the happy hardcore, but I'm also a sucker for the Pantera, slipknot, godsmack, and oldskool metallica areas of the playlist.

I am in complete agreement with Rhodes, but other than Tool, I'm currently playing a lot of Alkaline Trio, Saves the Day, Julianna Theory, and Further Seems Forever. How VERY emo.

Anyway, I'm currently listening to a whole lot of Nickelback(seems to be the current drug of choice), Bush, Limp B...argh, who threw that brick?, the Guano Apes, the excellent Cowboy Bebop OST, and all the other bands I named in one of the other twenty threads about favorite music.

Of all the songs I've ever heard in my entire life, this one takes the cake as "Worst song ever." I mean, take all the Britney Spears and nsync and combine it all together, and it still doesn't even begin to approach the complete awfulness that is this song.

Not that there's anything wrong with liking it, it's just that I don't.

When I'm not listening to Dicky's Rockin Radio, it's been from CD:

Tool
Richard Buckner
Dead Can Dance
Danny Elfman via Oingo Boingo or the Proof of Life soundtrack.
and various James Horner

...and I think I'm going to go out and pick up a Vast CD.

Littered with the likes of:

American Head Charge
deftones
Factory 81
Kittie
Korn
Rage Against the Machine
Sevendust
Tool

...and other various bands along those lines.

I don't care for the "lighter" rock, ie. Nickelback... nor do I like the mindless screaming and random noise of bands like Slipknot.

As you should be able to see, I like (for the most part) melodic vocals with really heavy music... perfect.

Lots of DJ Micro
Rinocerose
System of a Down (mostly unreleased or soundtracked ones, Snowblind, Marmelade, Metro, Streamline, Temper, Chickin Stew etc. etc.)
Leaked Weezer "Maladroite" album
Leaked GlassJAw "Worship and Tribute" album
deftones Adreniline and Around the fur mostly
Old Skool Prodigy
Blade 2 Soundtrack (kicks it up like 10 notches, Emirl on steriods)

Arg! and Crystal Method didnt do the Matrix theme, thats Propeller Heads!!! Song is called Spybreak, or im just thinking of something completly differant.

BTW K20B Slipknot rocks, and you cant say you dont like mindless screaming and random noise when you have American Head Charge on your list . Slipknot, in my opnion has the best drummer ive ever heard, and I saw them in concert and his drum set was vertical for about 1/2 the show. It was rotating around with a big pentagram on it

Hehehe, I knew I was going to get a comment about that. :) That's why I made sure to put the "for the most part" in there. I can't say I like Slipknot, but perhaps it was a bad example. Just.. that kinda stuff.. ya know.. ;)

Despite the pure amateur-like quality AHC has in their music, I'm quite fond of the way they sound. Haven't really figured that out yet, but.. I just do. Nowhere near "melodic", but there's just something about it that has me hooked. Maybe I just haven't given the rest of the noisy stuff a fair chance, eh? ;)

I think it's just the lack of anything recognizable as "music" that keeps me away from most of it.

Like I said, nice signing (for the most part :p ) mixed with deep, heavy music, is what I fancy.

Humbaba, you are not alone. Most of the songs on that list are in my collection. I can't really post a playlist, because it changes too often, and usually has hundreds of songs in it. But yeah. Woo Beatles! (I chould kick you for not putting a star by Strawberry Fields Forever. It's my favorite Beatles song)

Yea, I hear you Ken. I saw AHD in concert with Slipknot, System of a Down, Rammstien and No One. They rocked, that song Seamless is awesome. I think a better example of random noise and screaming would be Superjoint Ritual, Pantera, Slayer, Ministry, etc.
