execution = terrible
and pick some softer colors - sure, that gets their attention, but its not pleasing to look at
you'll also probably need some thing better then MSPaint if your some what serious about making a banner.
Some thing along these lines. Small and to the point.
((sorry for the high jack, just trying to give an example) the banner was made in a joking fashion, but I like it )
It... err... sucks. :\
if you want a realistic type picture, why not use a real picture? Otherwise, I'd go with an ingame shot
With Photoshop, whenever you add text, you can change its opacity, and give it styles. Try using those to give it a drop shadow or a border, which should help a lot.
My opinion is that you go with a totally different text and background, the skybox ain't workin it. If it's supposed to advertise NS itself, then use a stary background mabey. As for the text, you might want to go small, in a way to not make it look generic. And in my view, I'm thinking you should make it more rectangular
(As a side note, most rendering packages allow you to put in a custom background image, so there'd be less need to fiddle with the edges in Photoshop, if you set your rendering options, camera FOV, and lighting rig properly.. just photoshop the text over it, and toss on any filters that might be needed)
