<div class="IPBDescription">My first map.</div> I just finished a beta of my first map, by that i mean first map ever. It´s what you like to call it, a "killbox" or "funmap". I don´t have any screenshots yet and i´ll try to get some up soon. This is a pretty simple map but should offer some cool gameplay.

    It needs a minimap. Go into game with -dev on and type in the console "buildminimap" then package the levelname.spr located in /ns/sprites/minimaps along with the bsp and readme. Make sure you make it unpack to the correct directory or tell in the readme where to put the minimap for newbies.

    After some playing the map yesterday (thanks for being there requiem <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> ), i had to make some quick changes because of serious imbalance issues. After some work on the map today, beta3 is ready for download.

    Some of the changes are:

    - Alien spawn points moved to less open spaces to prevent marine?s spawn killing.
    - Ledges in hives cut in various places to make it easier for skulks to get up on the walls to defend.
    - Hives lowered so it heals aliens on the ground and makes them better to defend.
    - Both bases now have only 1 RT to prevent Jetpack rushes which resulted in a guaranteed marine win in less then 5 mins.
    - Added 2 more RT bunkers and 2 more rooms, so resource nodes are now more spread over the middle area to make the battle more interesting, since there?s only 1 node at each base.
    - Added a minimap
    - Commander view lowered.

    Iim not that sure if screenshots would help.
    Just another map were I can proudly say: "The screenshots dont look better if you make them bigger"

    Its a more detailed but simple killbox (not detailed in texturing, lightning or other stuff of course).
    I want to playtest it to check my theory, that marines have absolutely no chance on this map, even if aliens build sensory and movement first and just one of the aliens is older than 10 and that has played NS before.
    Nah, maybe Im wrong... wanna test it.

    The reason it?s not textured is because i wanted to tweak the gameplay before starting on that.

    The first 2 beta?s were heavily in marines favour, JP/HMG in under 5 minutes and aliens had no chance. We played the map yesterday on a semi-full server and the balance seems much better now. Both teams start with 1 RT and have to fight over the others.

    I started the texture work now and i have finished the hive area. Hopefully i?ll finish it before the weekend.
