    no, it won't

ME,2K, and XP do not have dos in them and thus can no longer run true dos (for the realy old games)

also it requires some extesive work arounds to get anything over a SB16 to work with old games

Heh, I've had the same problem without any results, though I haven't actively searched for DOS Emulation (Is there such a thing?). I own Conquest of the New World and a couple old DOS games that I'd like to play, but I can't for obvious reasons. A bit of nostalgia lost, I suppose.

Actually, win XP has some code in it to make running old DOS programs much more compatible. I remember before it came out seeing it run Duke3D and DOOM (off the original EXE) under WinXP. But I never tried this myself...

My suggestion is to just get ahold of an old boot disk. There is actually a few sites out there that let you download free boot disks for various OSes, and its 100% legal AFAIK. Just get an old DOS 6.22 boot disk, download DOS drivers for your soundcard, and you're good to go. :) In fact, DOS may even be abandonware, but who knows..

P.S. Sam & Max Hit the road, add that one to your list. :)

abandoneware = illegal;D just as a side note (go check out the underdogs web page (http://www.the-underdogs.org/faq.php))

but yah, I have leagal bot disks of dos any way

however dos can not recognize HDs over like 2 gigs I think (I actualy have a dos drive sitting in my room so I could just do that, but I will hold off till I get my comp up and running after a reformat/install new video card)

the one problem is that creative does not make Dos drivers for SBlive, and I can't find anything that will make my SBLive act like an SB16 (what dos can cope with)

so yah, if you could pass on a driver for an SBlive I would be muchly apreciative <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
