    is this my connection, or am I suposed to be getting these pings??? GAH!!

    Try the in-game browsers. I usually get 300 ping or less, and since almost all the weapons are Projectile (non-hitscan) and kind of slow-moving, you should be fine even with a 400 ping. Worse coems to worse, get heavy armor and a fusion mortar and dump green fun on the enemy base.

    DLed, instaled, played the training, tried to find a server (there are none) made my own just to tool around

    Didn't Tribes 2 have a two month period after it came out during which it really sucked? I heard it was super buggy and it took a long time to patch.

    Was that Tribes 2, or the original? Cause I liked the original (Renegades mod!)

    I LOVE Tribes2. Still play it.

    Yes, when it did first come out, it was more unstable then Windows 95. However, they've patched it up really nicely, releasing a huge patch back in Q4 2002 that fixed a ton of problems. Last November, Sierra re-released Tribes2 for 10 bucks, which shipped with the latest patches already installed.

    I play on a 60 player server called Houston Vehicles and get a ping of about 150-200. Download the demo just to be sure it runs good on your PC. The game really requires more then it says. I play the game on my Athon XP 1600, 512 DDR, GeForce4 Ti4400 and it runs great with full details, 1024x768x32. It does start to get choppy on big battles.

    I too used to play Renegades, I did it competitively.

    Take how fun ren was, add in some better vehicles, better graphics, and the occasional A-hole, and you have Tribes 2.

    And, oh yeah, missile launchers, an elf gun worth a damn, and cloaking packs <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I can usually hold a steady 70 FPS at 1280x1024, with my Athlon XP 1900 and GF3. Clocked out, of course.

    I bought Tribes 1 many moons ago and loved it. But alas; I am too cheap to buy Tribes 2.

    And before you lot start, I'm in Australia and the re-release hasn't made it onto our shores yet and nor have the prices dropped below US$25 for the initial release.

    I've been reading alt.games.starseige.tribes a fair bit, Houston Vehicles seems to get a pretty bad rap. Apparently most of the admins are 13 year old bastages.

    tribes 1 kick major anus, and i loved that renegades mod. {DoA} is a tribes 1 renegades clan!

    but then i got tribes 2, and yeah it was major buggy for the voodoo 3`s (10 fps max) so everyone said get a geforce, but i didn`t so i didn`t play it, but now me got a 1700 cpu so it goes sweet ****. kick ****!

    it is the orginal bf 1942. flyable drivable stuff, huge maps ECT

    last time I bought stuff from amazon they actually had free shipping if you chose the slowest shipping option. It actually didn't take that long to get my stuff either, like a week I think.

    I've been considering purchasing Tribes 2 now that its in the bargain bin at my local electronics warehouse (For 10$ mind you). Unfortunately, the electronics store is a bit out of my way in daily schedules, so I'll get around to it.. eventually (Never).

    Yes I play Tribes 2. I suck but hey...can't be good at everything

    Can't wait till Planetside (?) comes out. Basically think Tribes 2 but massive muliplayer. Problem being is monthly subscription which, as a college student, I can't afford. I think. Depends how much they charge

    I've played Tribes 2 before. I bought it a while ago, but wasn't too pleased with it. The players were either really really good, or very annoying (teamkilling). Wasn't a big fan of it, and since I couldn't find a good community server to play on, I uninstalled.
