And I'm not joining in on this "microhate". I've disliked Microsoft for a long time, however Windows is the best platform to be running games off, what with the fact that they most of them are developed for Windows, and I also don't have the money nor the time right now to shell out for a new OS.
Congrats, you maganged to make my day even worse by patronising me. Thanks.

Well, I don't get consolation out of other's misfortune, but thanks for apologizing anyway You have restored my faith in the average IQ of these forums.
Well, IQ has little to do with being nice. I guess I pushed too far. It's probably due to my bad "day". This is life-issue big bad day sort of stuff. [didn't that sound intelligent.. heh.. i'm keeping that sentence just because it cracks me up]
'Valve head honcho Gabe Newell has been working on a deal with Microsoft to make Half-Life 2 an Xbox exclusive title. Now don't get scared, there will certainly be a PC version, just no PS2 or GameCube ports. Given the complexity of Half-Life 2 (in theory, at least, since almost no information has been released about it) and the fact that Gabe Newell worked for Microsoft for 13 years before starting up Valve, well, there's probably some truth to this rumor.'

'Avault got this news that stated Vivendi Universal is planning to sell most of their gaming parts, including Blizzard and most importanly, Sierra. It would make Vivendi around 15 billion dollars richer if they do decide to sell. There are currently three companies looking to buy both Sierra and Blizzard, of course Microsoft and Sony are there, but also EA Games. Vivendi or the three companies would not comment on the news. We will keep you posted on the updates.'
Anybody here actually play 1 player halflife? I think that was the worst game I have ever played. quake 1 and 2 were 10x better 1 player i think. Halflife is good for its mods imo. If halflife 2 is anything like the original just on x box it will bomb.
lol, HL was frustrating the first time through. I hated getting pwned by those durn tentacle monsters (aka jetfuel/oxygen/ignite stage). But it's fun, and very original, even if the scripting for the scientists following you blew. What about the fact that you couldn't have more than 2 people "following" you at any time, even in OF?
As for the deal with me and macs.. The mac community gets shafted every day (read: no HL, ever ) and you guys say we should suck it up because there's a bigger community for games on the PC? I'd have to agree with you, but those are words warranting a 10-page (new) post dealing with the issues that mac gamers have that PC-gamers overlook (We usually HAVE to wait for up to a year and a half (even longer sometimes) for games to get ported to our system, not from console to computer, just plain old Windows to mac). Does this mean we should give up our OS and switch to Windows? <--rhetorical question, if you wanna debate this, please start a new thread!!!
mac seems impressive and all that with processors they claim are sometimes faster than PC and an OS that doesn't crash all the time, but the mouse has only one button. once they overcome that vastly complicated technological hurdle then mac might be taken seriously.

I could get around on a Mac just as easily (if not more easily) as on a PC with one less button. What does that say about the OS?
I'd have to agree with Pseudo-knight. I never needed that extra button. Plus there wasn't this great button known as the "WINDOWS" button to send you to the OS every time you hit it (especially fun when trying to hit the alt key while playing online games).
OFF TOPIC: I have this one problem in HL games where I keep pressing "ALT" to speak into the mic and then "TAB" to see the scoreboard. I get launched outta the game. Heh.

They make 3 button two scroll wheel mice for the mac just as they do with the PC.
seriously though. You'd be surprised how long you can go without important things (solid OS, less problems) when you have lifes little niceties (two button mouse with a scroll bar, and loads of pc games ::mac games are generally a joke:: )

Oh well, I guess this means there may actually be some games that don't crash on WinXP.
