Sweet ness. Star Trek has some of the cooler unique design rifles.

Tal'Shiar, weren't those the Romulan equivalent of the KGB?

That silver on the gun makes it look like its not colored at all and that s@#$ try to add some shades on it or color it grey or something.

maybe make up some other stuff to put on it, like a beam setting (stun-kill)? Its too plain like that

    ...

theres no skin on the model, hence the "and add materials quickly" comment.

I'll offer to skin it, but I'll need some refrence pictures - I .. don't watch Star Trek ..

i hate, star trek, i prefer starwars making a 3-11 blaster rifle wouldn't be too hard either since the lmg is very similiar

they both have clips poking out of the side, both have scopes(though there useable)

Personally ive always liked star trek weapons, unlike most science fiction shows they dont make some massive machine gun or are modeled very closely to conventional weapons, well not all of the st weapons are like that but take the type II hand phaser. Unlike any other gun that i can think of it doesnt have a pistol handle, original design of futuristic weaponry! i love it. And then theres the accessories etc. Like star wars, i wonder what improvements laser blaster things have over todays bullets? they give every appearance of shooting slower and doing less damage. Dunno, but i always thought it was cool how phaser rifles made things go boom and the beam weapon kind (like the one shown) could be swept about like a hose - though they never do that sort of stuff in the shows.

btw- the tal shi'ar is the romulan secret service.

Except for the abjectly humerous cannon Worf had in the back of the buggy in Nemesis, ST weapons are generally original. Except the rifles. What do you need a stock for, if there's no recoil? The weapon I like most in ST was in The Next Generation episode where they had a Klingon prisoner for some reason. He made a phaser out of bits and pieces he was wearing. The Next Generation had the most possibilities. The others just rehashed the same crap, ad infinitum. Hell, even DS9 had to have a remake of the tribbles episode, for crying out loud.

well, stocks also help in aiming the weapon in comfort though i must agree that the more recent st series have been dissapointments, not ds9 so much, mainly voyager and especially enterprise and the last 2 movies i was not especially impressed with. I guess thats what happens when you try to continue a good thing for too long.

um this gun has a single firing mechanism

how would it go for any of the guns in NS

and im not too sure this gun uses clips. more like energy for its ammunition

it would need to be an automatic if you were gunna replace ns guns with this

it could go for the pistol but that only has like 10 shots

    so like bleh whatever

It could do well to possibly replace the GL.

ok, KGb, secret service, only difference is that one is supposed to be mean.

The ST style phase rifles are the most original I've seen. I think even the current GL looks like a variant of an ST rifle.

Energy/Beam weapons are the coolest, I mean, look at Samus, now that is a sweet Beam weapon set.

i've always foung star trek's weapons a little too clean. i like the chunky, rough-and-ready look so much more.

    *edit* nice model tho

I probably will try to use gl animations on it, then it can be used for any weapon. Id probably prefer lmg though. Ill need to modify the firing sprites to match a phaser's.

I like the ST weapon designs as well. They look clean, sleek, and very light weight, thus giving a much more technologically-advanced feeling, no more excess casings flying out, no more moving parts on the gun, thus no more jamming, etc etc.

It's a mean, clean, efficient killing machine.

ST:NG or later design weapons are nice. Very clean, plus you can stun people! ST has some of the better designs for weapons/ships/aliens then i've seen in some places...though the pulse pistols from Farscape are pretty friggin sweet. What i'd give for someone to model Winona the pulse pistol.

for the GL...I don't know how you could have it reload...maybe load in a battery?

ST is THE BEST Sci-Fi show...though it only beats Farscape by a billionth of a nanometer.

The reload anim is gonna be hard to think of, namely because those damn Phase rifles have unlimited ammo. Why not just have the power on the rifle die for the time it takes to reload the GL clip and then it turns back on at the same time as the clip would be loaded?
