You hit it right on the nose. Whenever you use the piemenu to "say" something, it appears on all the aliens' hive sight, exactly how you described it. Now, you can't see this text unless you're looking directly at the blip, but it's still nice. Maybe in the future you could have some kind of audio cue, or the blip could turn a different color...or maybe both.
