Not a plausible strategy, is it?
Sorry if this has been mentioned, but I don't know how to search this subject without getting bunch of results with the word acid rocket
My question is that I've noticed that on several odd occassions, I've found that acid rockets can be shotdown by regular gunifre in midair before they they even travel 2 meters. I've only thought of it now as a very interesting fight technique, but I hardly ever hear it mentioned, and I'm not exactly sure if it's supposed to be easy to do; how much ammo does it take to blow them up? Or is it just a bug? But the payoffs can be big; not only do you stop the acid rockets from hitting you/team, if you hit it fast enough, the splash damage by the acids rockets will blow up in the fade's face and burn it instead.
Anyone here mastered the art of blowing up acid rockets? If so, any pointers as to how to do it effectively other than to, "aim for the cute flower sprouting off its shoulder"?

What you probably saw was that as a fade, when you walk backwards while firing an acid rocket, it explodes in your face. Or, at least, it seems to. I think this has to do with the client/server discrepancy. In reality (what the server thinks), the acid rocket is flying forward.
Anyone confirm this?
