<div class="IPBDescription">Anybody else who had this???</div> Like many others i've been playing NS since the public release date, i've learned alot since then about the game, howto play it and def. howto NOT play it.

I most likely play as Alien, and force myself to keep my death ratio as low as possible, wich means alot of hive runs and building ur own HC (health centers) in good places. It becomes more and more dayly that i have scores above 30 and a death count under 10.

However i have been accused for "cheating" by some, i have never been banned. But just 3 days ago it came on some "german" server ( i wont state its name) a person on the marine team started calling me a cheater, i said i didnt cheat and played along, then after winning that game. We get the mapchange, im preparing for another game then suddenly i get kicked and banned...........

I just find it weird that im being accused of cheating for a game that doesnt even have cheats out. Atleast i dont know any cheats for NS.

I just want 2 know if this also happend 2 anybody else in the community? I myself find it very sad...

I killed 6 marines at the start once, mostly because they were all running around like chickens with their heads cut off, I then got kicked to the console with the message "we dont like u cheating faggots on our server", perma-banned. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'>

I'm rather certain the CS hacks have carried over but in a small degree. Ran into a few marines who turn corners and immediatly shoot hiding skulks at very long ranges. Of course when asked if they have motion tracking, they all say no. Just another reason to wait for first person spec view to be enabled but no biggy.

first person spec still can be fubar, I use sound as much as possible, the other day I managed to turn a corner and peg a skulk right over my right shoulder never having seen him just by listening to his sounds. **obscenity** him off seven ways to sunday.

I had an admin slay me and my entire team.. then crash the server before... just because he didnt like that I pulled a squad victory out of my butt when aliens had the upper hand.

well, I think there are cheats already out there. I won't name someone, but it's rather suspicious to not only be able to kill 3 skulks in a row with an un-upgraded lmg (against full carapace, and coming from different directions). There might be hacks out already, or really REALLY low pings/high pings. *shrug* It also might be the servers. But I've seen about 5 people capable of doing this, and I'm starting to think it's a hack, especially since the only way they play is "rambo marine"

Yea, I've found it increasingly difficult to be a skulk now, I actually am begining to think that people are playing well, either that or hackers are widespread. In an extreme case i remember, I cant vouch for it but I'm pretty sure I've had that happen too. Me and 2 friends, told eachother to attack the same marine in 3 ways on ns_eclipse, in a closed hallway. He managed to LMG us all. We were 5 feet away, and one was above, one in front, and one behind. Now either your thinking, he's lieing or him and his friends suck. This is not so, we've played since open public release, and often go with 30/5 scores, with an occasional 50/7 or something. So I think either this fellow was hacking, we were ALL sucking or um yea...thats it actually.

i had it on a couple servers that the admin did not like it when the humans abandond their "Base" to build a new one in a hive. "playing wrong" he called it.

as for cheats, i have seen more peculiar stuff lately:
hiding unseen in a dark corner as a skulk, silent at the begin before movment scan can be up - and a human walks around a corner and shoots me. later he did it again when i was ambushing over a door in a differnt place - but by then they might have had movement.

i also had it in several games that as a human i hid in different places, and again and again the same guy would skulk directly at me.

it might be just different monitors and gamma - but i am beginning to feel that someone ported a CS wall hack/aimbot into NS.

I don't mean to flame but maybe you were being a kock about it.

I get scores like yours, sometimes even more unbelievable, I <b>never</b> get kicked or banned.

Once there was two of us on a 10 alien team and we made up 80% of the Kills for our team. We were both around 25/1 and he was whining and complaining about how he and I were doing all the work and that if one of us left they'd lose. To everyone it just seemed like he was bragging about his score, telling the marine team how much his team sucked and quoting his score even though everyone could read it on the scoreboard. Everybody just kept on telling him to shut up, he accused them of being jealous, and the admin finally kicked and banned him. At that point were both around 37-2 (Let me say all the scores are approximate, I don't actually remember them) and only he got kicked. I agreed with the actions of the Admin because he was being disruptive and even though he helped the team he certainly wasn't a teamplayer. I'm sure he's all telling people how he got kicked and banned for ownage on a server and blah, blity, blah and on and on. If the dude reads this post let me say that we won without your whiny, st00pid **obscenity**.

That's not to say you are a braggart, admins are people and they are prone to jealous st00pidity too.

I haven't had any reason to suspect cheats/hacking as far as killing people go, but I can personally attest to the fact that there is resource cheating going on righ now.
I was playing on a pub server yesterday, can't remember the name because I just look for players and ping. Anyway, I join a late alien game, and they already have 3 hives, so the game ends before I get a chance to play. After the win I go alien again, and off to rush I go. I got killed and while waiting to respawn, I cycled through my team-mates to see what was going on. I see a gorge building a wall of lame at the 2nd hive site, and behind him is a gestating hive!! This is less than a minute into the game. I asked about it and was told something along the lines of "Oh...that's resources recycled from the last match". This explanation made no sense to me, but I was thinking that mabe we were on one of those servers where nodes give out +3 per tick, and that some of our players had recycled their starting 10 rp (f4). I spawned again and went back to the marine start, but when I got there I was surprised to see that their base was the same chewed-up mess we left behind the 1st rush. This surprised me, because if the server was giving out more res, they'd gotten more stuff up. I didn't rush in because I saw our third hive going up, and smelled rat. I went to the hive sites, and they had walls of lame stacked up to the ceiling!
About this time the Marines started crying foul, and with reason. I started trying to get our team to concede the match, but they kept on saying "everyone go Onos!" and laughing at the marines. They in turn started spamming "res h4x0rs H0s", and I quit in disgust. I felt cheap after being the unwilling beneficiary of this hack, and quit for the night dreading what this exellent game may become if hacking is allowed to run rampant.
I trully hope this was just some adolecent's idea of fun, rather than an emerging trend in the comunity. This game is not 6 weeks old, please, let's not let it be still-born because of cheap thrills.

I've been accused of cheating while playing as a marine once. We were playing caged and my team was working on getting the sewer locked down. The marines I was with died and I was the only one left to get the turrets up and protect them. I began to kill skulk after skulk as they came in. Guess my noob tactics of constantly moving, listening for their footsteps, keeping an eye on the entryways, hiding in a different place after each kill, good instincts, and a good aim were too much for em. I died eventually of course becaue I depleted my ammo. Some clan guys began accusing me of seeing through walls and a terminator aim. I'm guess I'm guilty of observing my environment.

Nah, yer not cheating, I got this as a Skulk/Fade and I can honestly and proudly say I've never even been to a site related to cheats... well, related in the nature of it being anti-cheating websites, but just the same...

Well if you play as Frontiersmen, you have a low chance of getting called a hacker, unless you're a miraculous pistol monsterkiller.

The concern is legitamate but I think there is a pretty good chance this is nothing more then a Brag Thread.

His concern would be far better addressed on the Server and Server Operator Forum. Better yet, he should have just dealt with this with the Senior Admin of the Server he was Kick/Banned from.

I glanced at the Total Kills for the Team and I noticed that in ALL of these "skillz pix" the Alien team totally dominated the Marine Team from between 70-150 Kills. Hardly scores that reflect a hard won battle.

Dominating a bunch of DMing marines for an hour is no big feat.

I got banned from the PlanetSide server because I was owning the aliens so bad as a marine with HA and HMG. I killed 6 fades, 4 skulks, 3 gorges, and 2 skulks, all before 1 death, and a partridge in a pear tree. How did I do this? I had a light marine behind me with welder keeping my armor welded, and the commander was supplying me with health (which only one medpack was necessary.) After I did that, the PlanetSide admins, which 2 of them were on the alien team, slayed the ENTIRE marine team and rushed the marine spawn and won it like **obscenity**.

I'm glad to say this is a show of a weak clan, and it also got them all bans from the best newb-free NS server up, Nano-Gridlock. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'>

their are cheats for every HL mod, it runs with the HL engine so it can be used anywhere, ive seen it in NS right before me at my dads. funny but who needs it, get motion tracking <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

Just for the record, I routinely spin around a corner and peg the common hiding spots when I'm playing. Any GOOD marine gets to know the best hiding places on the various maps for Skulks. Add in the sounds they make (most times) and it's really not hard to gack one that is lying in wait... motion tracking or not. Heh well Ive never told that Ive been cheating, but Ive been in servers were they have accused of others of cheating. The whole server tried to explain to that person that were no cheats for ns or none that I know of atleat. But the guys wouldnt give up on it.

Excactly the same here. It was once above the marine base doorway, where I was just waiting to get "Let's move out" and be ready to attack. I was able to do it about 5-6 times in a row and they NEVER learnt from it! Finally someone got really mad at me having a plan so he decided to accuse me of cheating.

btw I love the fact that even tho' this game's been on like what a month? I see VERY rarely marines who watch the ceilings. (I usually do that with a flashlight, even) And that results me just hanging high enough on the ceiling and literally dropping on their heads 'n chompin' them away! <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

Although i still get pretty nice scores (like the attacked image), i´m starting to like the suicide for TF´s and a group of marines or Xenociding at when 3rd hive is built, so i really don´t care anymore about how many/few deaths or kills i have., as long as i´m doing good for my team.

So far, I don't see anything special. You people play on small servers, and I've found it's much easier to rack up a nice kill-death ratio on 'em. On big servers, every person counts and makes a huge difference, especially for the marines.

Well, the only cheat I know for NS, can be used on any HL mod, which is wallhacking.. which is useless, since the game already has wallhacking.

Anyway, if you can pull the same score on the Coronas in Space server, THEN I will be impressed.. and more likely to call you a cheater.

And we have one.. god-like player named PneumaticCrab who.. gets some really awesome kill-death ratios, and to the regulars.. he's that good.. to the newbies that occasionally drop in.. he's a cheater. dont EVEN bring your LEET BS here. the only skill that should be commended is listening to your commander or squadleader. or your team skills as an alien. this game is SO NOT about the kill.

yeah, i had it happen on two servers now - one of them i know does not mess with settings, so it IS a hack.
