<div class="IPBDescription">...niether does a strat</div> Biggest thing I have seen is that most commanders past the initial learning curve stick to a blanket strategy. Biggest mistake I have seen is that a commander will rush and take a hive over by building from the inside and working your way out. Than leaving thier initial base alone with no defence. Most dont consider the following.

Your original spawn is a central point between two hive and if you leave it than the short cut is no long defended.

Why build on the inside of a hive? Why not the room before it? How often do you see multiple entries to a hive and only 2 entries/exits in the room before. Just cause its a hive doesnt mean you have to be in it like an alien. Try building outside the hive and use "1" seige to keep them from building.

Most dont know limits of their normal turrets and how far they can shoot. If you put a turret at the end of a long hall way that just leaves you open for splash damage.

To many times you people think that a hive is better. If you have aim and you have 2 others with you.. whats keeping you from building outside thier hive and keeping them from expanding or tearing up your stuff? Reverse the role on them. If you have the patience to wait for the first skulk rush you can get a good idea of where their hive is. Kill the skulks and rush their hive.. plant yourself outside of it and build. Use your recources to be agressive.

Dont be affraid of being tagged... unless your hurt. Tagged just means the poor sucker that is lost has an easier time finding you and dying than finding a lone undefended recource tower.

TRY TO THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX!!!

Really? How is this the case in Eclipse, where the hives are generally along the same route. Or Nothing, where Cargo leads to a path to silo and a path to Viaduct. In Bast, the water near Refinery leads to Feedwater. Lets take nancy now, which has Port that leads over to SubSpace, and is somewhat close to the messhall to access Unnamed. In most maps (I think all), the marine spawn is NOT a shortcut.
