Building a base on the back of a reefback.

Obviously not a permanent one. But the reefbacks are big enough now that you should be able to place a platform and a multipurpose room on the back of a reef back, at least for storage if anything. It would be a challenge to see where your base ends up.

It's not. Reefbacks don't have a stable surface. You can't even keep a PRAWN atop them without walking along.
