Stand On Structures!

<div class="IPBDescription">For fun and profit</div> When building buildings in dangerous locations (hives, nozzles, etc...) stand on buildings that you are making.
Why?
Skulks.
Skulks have a VERY hard time trying to bite your legs from a lower position. Not mentioning the difficulty of getting up to your height in the first place. They either have to try to run up the building under construction, which is very easy to slip off of, or jump from the top of another building. Either way, the marine lasts a hell of a lot longer than he otherwise would, standing on the floor.

funny, when I'm a skulk I usually hit the building at full speed and just... go up and over.

I always stand on stuff when I build it too. It has actually saved me from being bitten several times. Don't knock it till you've tried it. A skulk is more likely to be aiming slightly down than slightly up when he's running along trying to nip your heels. And unless he IS aiming up, he won't be able to climb up the turret or whatever you're building. This gives you a one or two second advantage to blast his **obscenity** or continue building that 99% complete turret.

Yes, and you chomp him maybe... Once and then it is harder to turn around and go back up that structure to chomp him again, compared to chomping him while he is on the floor.
