The Devs are on Holiday...

... on a week-retreat, but the Automated Builder is still giving us Experimental Builds? I just received a tiny update today. Shouldn't the Devs be kicking back in Grenada by now? Unless it's a sort of relaxed, working holiday where they'll meet up, have fun, get to chat with each other and maybe casual-brainstorm a bit...? Maybe we might get a few tiny updates here and there to fix little niggles between them winding down for the week. Either way, it's all good! I'm just surprised; you'd think with them taking some time to relax and recharge they'd temporarily turn off the automated experimental builds... Well, here's to a great week's retreat for the Devs, and it's my hope they'll have a great time in Grenada, then come back to us with some crazy-awesome stuff for Subnautica!

I for one am loving the new Power Nap update; I found and scanned a bed in the Jelly Mushroom Caverns, though the eggs for the Crab Snake seem to be missing--or I just haven't found them, yet. I also encountered my first Crab Squid and I was like, "What the hell is that?!", before I realized just what the f-ck it was! Yes, they look kind of silly when spawned in the light of the Safe Shallows... but when you're in the right environment... ho-ly f-ck they're terrifying. In the Blood Kelp Biome, you can barely see the Crab Squid, just the 'white' parts of it fluorescing in the dark... until you get closer to it...

Meanwhile, I've built a new base in the Creepvine Forest. So far I've managed to do it without impacting the Biome at all - except for when I placed the Moon Pool Down whereupon it 'swept away' the Terrain leaving ugly brown 'flat' sand. Tsk, tsk. I managed to get some grow beds down there to mitigate the damage a bit--my Moon Pool looks like damn kids whizzed in it, now. Still not happy about the damage, though. We need a change to the base building allowing for more connecting points on Mult-Purpose Rooms so we can build around geological formations. At least I managed to build without damaging the Creepvine, though.

I still think the predators are eating fish faster than they can respawn because - aside from the stalkers and other life in my tanks - where my base is, as well as part of the Safe Shallows, seems... empty. Does that still happen, or is it just I'm not seeing any life where I am and it's all further out? Regardless, I'm in for the long haul here; I've got tanks with Peepers and Bladderfish stocked up, the usual Lantern Trees and Chinese Potatoes--and on a recent trip into the Jelly-Shroom Caves I even snagged a couple of Eyeyes and put them in with my Peepers. Additionally, there seems to be a lot more encyclopedia entries in my PDA. I'll poke around some more and see what else I can dig up...

I moved my base to an expansive shallows slope overlooking the plateaus, to the left of the jellyshroom mouth entrance... where I found my old base spot on the other side. A beautiful vista indeed. I hope that the UW team have as beautiful scenery. Will post pics soon.

Yep, Automated Builder is still running--there's a Ghost Developer out there making teeny tiny updates of 1.7MB; or a Dev made the honorable sacrifice and said, "Nah, I'mma just keep coding...", before bandaging his bloody fingers, cracking his knuckles and getting down to it...

I would guess those ghost updates have something to do with translations. People keep translating and the auto builder does the rest.

I'm pretty sure a couple developers didn't go on vacation
