    We also have the increasingly nasty issue of marines using Phase gates as 'bunkers' versus melee units.

    I.E They crouch (thus using that annoying broke hitbox) and shoot at you 'over' the phase gate, in a narrow corridor. By & large, in trying to reach the marine you touch the gate (which seems to be VERY unpicky about how much you stand on it) and sentences you to quick sentry related death.

    Irunno.... I don't think it's a good idea for the phase gate to do damage to the aliens. I think the developers intended it to be a double edged sword for the marines. For example, during an attack on a minibase, I accidentally stepped on the phase gate and dropped onto some unprepared marines. Result? I think I killed two marines at one base, stepped back into the gate, into another base, one more marine down and finally i teleport back to the original minibase and die.

    People have no idea how annoying phase gates are. As soon as you accidently step on one on your way to munch the tf you get teleported through all the marines bases and usually get seriously shot up becuase of the 2 second teleport delay.

    I like the Idea of using the use key...because I often step into the phasegate when i want to repair it...
    The popup menue ? I think it would need the same time as circling around... and I dont like the Idea anyway.

    Good idea.

    No pop-up menu though. Make it work like movement chambers, except fix that farthest hive from you so it just cycles you through all of them.

    Just the use key will be ok if we can be sure of a cycling order that we can memorize.

    Use key wuold be great. I hate stepping on them as aliens when im trying to kill them. Movment chambers should cycle hives also.

    Yeah i think the corporate tenor has been found and it is

    -useable phasegate, keep the cycling order
    -movement chambers stay usable, shud get cycling order

    I agree that the popup idea might annoy some ppl who need to teleport very quickly. Of course there are solutions to improve it but for first we might stick witht he use button update.

    I think everybody agrees on one part of the idea: The phase gate should be use-able.

    It's rare that there is a suggestion here that EVERYBODY agrees with <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> I certainly hope somebody important notices this thread!

    I think the menu idea won't work, because of speed being key, but I agree 100% with making the phase-gate use-able.

    As for movement chamber, I'd LOVE if it cycled.
