Apparently it will take 11and a half years roughly for rescue, accorded to my math. So that interesting,
if you find this interesting please agree.
If you fix the life pod it says it will take 99999 hours for rescue convert into days it 4166 days and 15hours then convert it into years its 11.415411 so check out my math and see if you get something else but I bet I'm right roughly.

The way i understood it, is that the Lifepod's distress signal was received by the Aurora's system, but since the ship is down theres no way a rescue team can be sent so itll take unkown timeframe (hence the 9999 hours) for the rescue to be sent. I might be wrong tho but thats how i understood it.

Hehehee!! Yes, I understood the same thing. So, we better try to get comfortable in this world because a rescue will take quite a long time.

I understood it to mean the computer had a hiccup on the first 9 and went in to a 99999 loop until it came out of said loop an finished with the word "hours". Doesn't the computer die and go off line then after that?

Generally a computer would say "99999" if that's the highest number it can go up to - So if it will take 15-20 years for help to arrive it would only count up to 99999 hours.

Actually if you have your text set it says, "9-9-9-9-9-...... hours..." Sounds like a voice synth glitch to me....

Probably an iterative loop error at work here. For further information, consult 'Wheatley's Song' by Miracle of Sound.

Glitch in the system. The character in Subnautica will likely not live to see a 'rescue' he was lucky to live the crash, let alone the Dark Matter reactor's decay and explosion.

Better to put character's head to owen and cook his brain... 'Cause he's lost, lonely, forgotten

Some times I look at the desert moon and wonder if any life pods landed there, and maybe looking at all that water here, as they suck on still suit water. lol

Given how we do on this planet, they probably have no problem with water, but are desperately searching for sand.

It's a distorted message. The 9999 does not represent an actual deployment time.

it depends on when someone is expects to hear from them plus how long it may take to send help. the ship was on a 3 year mission we dont even know how long a massage would need. it might be years before anyone knows that something went wrong.

I do believe it is a recording problem, hehehe, but it is very funny to consider that it is 99999 hours til rescue.

After all, It's very apparent now that it is not 9 hours, not even 90 hours. So, in short words, the character is very much fried, heheheh!!!!

it is not that people disagree with your math. it is just that it unlikely that this is the correct value. it was an automated message send by the aurora but since the aurora exploded they can hardly send help.

There is apparently a message on the communication relay at day 39 or later from another ship which received the Aurora's distress signal. They say they will be able to come to rescue in 465 days, which from the sound of it could be a time limit before the end of the game in survival.

I hope they don't put a time limit on it. I like taking my time to do things. I was at around day 50 before I got all the print frags needed to build the seamoth. Also took awhile to build the rad suit because I was looking for lead. Didn't know the batteries which don't use lead to be made could be turned into lead.
