<div class="IPBDescription">Where on what map?</div> We all know that sieges can stop alien expansion, but do some of you guys have specific resource nozzels/location that covers alot of resources/hives on certian maps? Strats involving sieges welcome to.
First room that comes to mind is Mess Hall on ns_nancy. When properly placed (against the walls, NOT in the middle of the room <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo--> ), 2-3 sieges can guard against 2-3 nozzles, and give you the firepower to make moves on both Subspace Hive and Unnamed Hive (Mother Hive). Thats probably the most important room on any map.
Mess Hall on ns_nancy, Holoroom on ns_hera, Atmospheric Processing on ns_bast, Freight Elevator Access on ns_caged and Sewer Refinery (I think is what it's called) on ns_tanith all immediately come to mind. I try to secure these areas as soon as I can most of the time when I'm commanding.
Mess Hall - the routes through TWO hives come through here. Set up a forward base with a phase gate here, and you have a much easier time assaulting either hive.
Holoroom - two resource nodes, close distance to a hive.
Atmospheric Processing - two resource nodes, close to a hive, and if you set your sieges in the North Corridor correctly, you can cover another hive as well. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
Freight Elevator Access - this map has pretty roundabout routes; Freight Elevator Access is right in the middle of most of them. Plus there's two nodes (one which a Gorge can't get to easily), and is pretty close to 2 hives.
Sewer Refinery(?) - Once again, two resource nodes, and hive routes pass right through here.

On hera there is a siege position that covers 2 hives completely <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->.
A Siege Cannon in the marine spawn on Bast can cover half of Engine Room. You can't quite hit the hive, but I think if you manage to get the Cannon in the vent above the spawn you can hit the resource node.
how about the vents that can be accessed from the elevator? if you go right and then jump down the ladder, past the wieldable vent...if u can get a seige in that area...you can hit anything in engine room definitely. thats what i heard but i enver tried it out but it seems extremely close.
On ns_eclipse, you can get sieges into just about any of the vents - and they all run near a hive at some point. We spent 10 minutes trying to find out where they kept sieging us from.
rebo - that spot is completely impractical though, especially if they have any active hives in the area. Skulks totally own that little vent/hole leading out from Vent hive. I do see it being effective if the the aliens first hive spawns at Archiving, but that's such a fragile area to fortify and hold on to.
A fair spot, also in ns_hera, a very alien-favored map from personal experience, is outside the Holoroom doorway, when the room turns into Processing. A good 3 sieges there can deny the 2 nodes in Holoroom, the Data Core hive, the resource outside of Data Core, and any chambers that a gorge may have made in Processing or in front of that resource node. Last night, a huge battle ensued in this skulk-favored area. Us marines lost the area a few times, but thanks to the motion tracking and teammates, we were able to resecure that area even when there were Fades, and siege that hive to death again a second time ;p
