Respawn Time

ok there was a post somewhere about respawn times but I couldn't find it. For the aliens it is easy. One per 10 secs with 1 hive. With 2 hives it is probably like the marines with 2 spawn portals. Now with 2 spawn portals, do the marines spawn 1 every 5 seconds? It does not seem like it. You're still in the queue for the same time. The only benefit I see is a backup portal, and alternating respawns so you have more time to get off that portal without being telefragged.

    The benefit if multiple portals appears to be the fact that while a particular marine won't respawn any faster, you can have one marine respawning for each portal you have (up to 3 I believe). The Kharaa do the same thing, but they need extra hives.
