Subnautica will not load since @ first or second experimental Seamoth update

Afternoon,
I've been playing Subnautica in experimental mode for over a month. Since sometime around the first Seamoth update, the game fails to load. I've since tried launching it in non-experimental mode, but the result is the same.

It's a bad hang, too; it basically kills my system. The Subnautica.exe process stays in memory and will not die no matter how many times I click "End Process", even while swearing and/or bargaining with supernatural powers. Even restarting windows hangs at "Logging Off". I need to power off the old fashioned way.

Windows patches and video drivers are up to date.

Hope you can help; this game is sheer brilliance.

Try to verify your game cache > right click subnautica in steam > properties > local files > verify integrity

Tried that early on and it checked out OK.
Will try again now that we have the Seamoth update, however.
    Thanks for the suggestion!

The Steam verifier took a very long time, but caught a problem with a file this time.
    The game's running again now!
Thanks again Luitjens; I should have kept re-verifying after each experimental update, I suppose.
    Cheers!
