locations etc...
How does EVERYONE except me know exactly where everything is on the maps. I've been playing for like a week and a half. I'm not sure if that qualifies me as noob, but i still don't know where "cargo hold 2," or "mess hall" is. Just wondering if these people play NS for hours on end or what. BTW, are there map guides or anything of that sort? Sorry if this is the wrong topic, but more people go to this one rather than new player.

Im gonna try to make it so players can say "%l" and it will replace it with they are from.
I auctually think Flayra should add something like that so players dont have to type where there at but oh wel.
As for the playing for hours on end, well, yes How can you not?
Cargo Hold 2: Damn, I know this one, but it won't come to me, I'm thinking NS_Nothing....
Mess Hall: Central piviot point, but I'm unsure on the map name for this one.
I can find my way from point A to point B in Caged and Nothing.
I feel pretty confident in Eclipse and Hera.
Bast is the only map I think I know 100%.
About locations, this can be tricky, especially if you're still learning the map's layout. I mean, I know Bast, but I didn't know the name of the cool "N" corridor until a few days ago. And it doesn't really help when many of the maps have locations with very similar names ("Maintenance" and "Generator" come to mind).
Just keep playing the maps and learn the general layout, then figure out the best routes and the vent system, then you can worry about the exact names of the location. Of course, there are some locations that just stick in your mind--I mean, how many maps have an Atmospheric Processing or a Holoroom or a Triad Generator?
Or a Room with Things, or a Forboding Antechamber, for that matter.
"Alright alright, which one?"
