siege guns
k. I've read numerous reports about siege guns and damage levels etc but I can't see a reference to this one so I thought I'd post it here to get some comments before I claim I've found a bug!
Quiet simply siege guns try to fire through walls, not only that it seems a lot of the time they suceed!
As a marine I was often confused by the alien offensive towers sending out a white explosion ring repeatedly later in the game at first I assumed it was some sort of new alien attack as they gained hives. as an alien I presumed this attack would therefore be harmless to me and was often confused as I disintergrated when creating a resource node or tower in an empty room that then exploded in this white shockwave.
As a marine I was also confused that siege guns so often fired directly and repeatedly at a wall - I figured they were just tracking the nearest alien and that their firing was an irritant but caused maybe by the proximity of the aliens on the other side of the wall.
Call me slow but I think I've tied all the peices together and come to the conclusion that the white shockwaves are from the cannons - the damage they do is a bit knackered, especially when out of los but they stil seem to have the ability to aim and shoot through walls and leathaly. this makes it imposible to build any alien structures within a radius of the cannons regardless of what's in between.
Can anyone explain this?

Believe it or not I have ready about 75% of the manual - just not that bit. So the only anomoly I've really seen is the Offensive Towers not being destroyed. Which has already been reported.
I shall return to the hive and inform my bretheren of the good news.

Is that true?
Siege turrets dont target aliens?
So if you see an unguarded seige cannon, by all means, feel free to eat it ASAP. It can't hurt you!
If you're a commander, DO NOT try to block the doors to your base with seige cannons! It can't hurt them! Instead, put them in the corners of your base nearest to the center of the map, if you put them in your base at all.
Aliens, if you respond to a "Structure is under attack!" and you get there to find mysterious ring-bursts wracking your stuff, hunt for the seige cannon responsible, and destroy it, or its supporting turret factory, as quickly as possible.
And gorges, for christ's sake, DO NOT try to heal things being seiged. YOU'LL DIE.
If you die because of seigery as soon as you spawn... oh well. A seige is probably shooting your hive. Sorry, but you will probably loose that hive, if not the game, soon. Suck it up and prepare to go "gg."

Yes, it's true, but there's no reason that the alien can't get liquifid by the blast.
Oh, and by best, I mean absolutly worst.
The best way to die is when I happen to be standing next to a newbie gorge player who decides that it would be a good idea to setup some towers right outside the human base, just to see a big splash of while light and particles, and find myself, the gorge, and a few others dead.

Some days ago a siege just cleared our (alien)resbase in front of the marinebase.
I was waiting in front of their base(at the place that was just siege-cleared), when a stupid gorge built a OC right beside me.
