Suggestion: Volumetric lights effect

Sometimes it's hard to find the seamoth in the dark. OK, it lights a spot but niter itself nor the water.
Could you please add some volumetric lights like i did in the attached pictures? This would give great atmosphere AND would also be useful.
Even cyclops could profit by self-enlightening beacon and volumetric headlights. And btw .. the bubbles are too white most of the time. (edited in the first picture) :)

    +1

Went deep for the first time today and it was easy to miss the seamoth in the dark. It should also have running lights so it can be seen from any angle.

This could also become part of the gameplay, lights on could attract unwanted attention or used as a lure to deliberately draw life forms closer.

That'd be a nice touch. would nice to get some more light around the Cyclops too.

I like this idea quite a bit but it would be cool to have a creature that it drawn specifically to light like insects are drawn to light but mammals arnt typically drawn to it, but lighting up the water etc. up is a great idea :)

Both should have more spotlights in general (especially the cyclops)

Nice timing, I requested our FX guy to start messing around with volumetric light effects for the vehicles last week, actually. It is a bit tricky to keep the light beams from going through objects and terrain, and still do them in a performance friendly way, so we'll need to figure out what is going to work best for that. Also we need to make sure the versions you see when outside the vehicles are separately adjustable to the versions you see when driving, because the light beams could really become vision obscuring when driving vehicles / using flashlights /etc.

Thanks a lot for your answer! I guess there is not really a need for the volumetric light effect if you are inside the vehicle. B.t.w. how about placing a spherical (non volumetric) light on the beam vector to simulate some secondary lighting?
