Parasite Can Be Useful!

Alright, lets first take it from an alien point of view.. YOu've parasited one marine and see his yellow circle moving down the hall. He's alone, right? You rush in, trying to bite when boom, him and his team mates splatter you against the wall. How the **obscenity**, your wondering.
Now from the marine point of view. You've recently been parasited and are going in an attack. Make sure no one else is parasited and have them crouch when walking (Much quieter). The aliens have a good chance of thinking your alone. That is, until they see you and your 5 crouching HA/HMG buddies after a quick death. Why did this happen? Because you utilized their weapon against them. Keep your friends quiet and move down a hall towards a base. Aliens who think your ramboing will fall for this and easily be crushed. The only thing is, make sure no one else is parasited.

Now why in the world would an alien assume a marine is alone? Whenever i'm approaching a parasited marine i always stop to listen before exposing myself, and will always take a peek around the corner before committing myself to an attack. No alien worth his bodily juices just charges blindly towards any and all yellow blobs they see.

One use for parasite that DOES work is to use them as diversions. Have a group of parasited marines move off towards one area while the other (parasite free) group moves to a different strategical location.

I didn't say it'd work against the smart people. Also may I remind you, crouch is like a watered down silence. Its a bit quieter than normal marine walking.

Does it give off any sound? It's always seemed completely silent to me.

Interesting tactic, but a little hard to organize. The alien is still at advantage with parasite IMO.

I take more of a "i need a health pack" approach,i use radio commands to make them think im in trouble, when they pop around the corner thinking they are about to get a easy kill, I fire a couple rounds of lmg and theyre gone. this works especially well with 2 or more marines.

Psyching them out with "I need ammo" sounds works wonders. I took out a Fade once doing that - I knew he was almost dead, so I put away my shottie, whipped out the knife, and called for ammo.

He got close (cause he was cocky and wanted to swipe me), so I unloaded a full blast into his torso.

You have to be careful, though. Lots of times I'll go ahead and use the sound to merely locate a marine, then strike him indirectly with Acid Rockets. Same thing as for parasite. I'm always fairly careful with my Fade, since I realize that there's no real reason that a skilled Fade should have a high mortality rate.

As for skulks, this sort of psych-out probably works a bit better. Although I often wait by a doorway and give the marine a moment so I can see if there's someone right behind him. Then again, why are you going through this much trouble to fight and trick skulks? Just have the commander sensor sweep the area while you and your buddies wait in the hall, then just move out and cover each other. Much easier to set up and excecute, plus its a good deal quicker.

Using the radio commands may be nice to distract aliens, but remember - your commander hears those messages.

Try not to distract him from more important things by giving him false messages in an attempt to lure out an alien.
